You know, it may be possible to make that old Polaroid work. I have a Polaroid 230, very similar camera, and with some FujiFilm Packs, a new battery, and a 2 minute watch of a youtube video, you can rock some serious hipster creed and shoot some instant medium format sized film pictures.

So take a look, it may be more than a interest piece yet!

While some of the features of the Marine Charts app above are better than the Navionics product line, I believe their chart apps allow you to interrogate the charts better. Also, for when you're inshore and have sufficient 3G coverage, MotionX-GPS allows the use of NOAA Marine Charts, on a pretty good interface, for alot less money.

Also, look up wind alert for up to date wind information, although the NOAA app above does pretty well at that too.

@TheCount: What I would do to get air to circulate through them is to put one fan in one corner of your window wall, and the other on the complete opposite corner (one high blowing out, one low on other side pulling in). Then, you'll need good circulation in the room, so a large overhead fan, and/or smaller fans along the walls promoting that circulation in the room should work great (although it is a lot of fans). Also, don't forget about that huge radiant heat source known as your windows. Blocking the light from the room is good, but a window film that is a bit reflective would go a long way.

I understand wanting to have something unique, but when you build this monstrosity (among others) on what used to be a calm, victorian architecturally dominanted, tourist-unfriendly island, you just look like a prat.

I don't know why people insist on ignoring the pace/style/feel of a location when they build.

We saved seas last year from tomatoes and squash (among others) by just removing the seeds, putting them (pulp and all) on a paper towel and letting them dry.

The next year, just pull off a part of the paper towel with a couple seeds on it, and plant the whole thing. I'd say they are coming up pretty well this year so far.

Just saves a couple steps

Second Chance in baltimore has a couple warehouses full of old things, from lumber to furniture, etc. A little bit of a drive, but its a pretty good selection.

Unfortunately, This house isn't on the Ocean, no part of SI is on the ocean. In fact, it isn't even on the side of the island that would face the ocean if there wasn't another island in the way. The house faces Noyack Bay, and is two plots down from one of my families property, and it is a pretty stunning house to look at, and fits in with the general eclectic beach house nature of the island. Of course there are some other really interesting houses on the island.
