Cute idea - and functional for mixed-sex shared bedrooms, I guess... but it just ends up looking like a ward in a hospital!

I agree with Yolanda. I'm currently in Brazil, and I see a lot of this. It's not "interesting", it's surviving in whatever way you can.

Don't the taps get in the way? I never had any problem handling my baby in the big tub, once I was shown the best way to do it.

1. The infant bathtub. He screamed every time he went in it and bathtime was a nightmare until we just put him in the big tub and now he loves it.
2. Carrier. We got the Tomy freestyle premier and used it zero times. I couldn't get it adjusted to be comfortable and by the time I got myself strapped in, and the baby strapped in, I was too exhausted to go wherever it was I wanted to go.
3. Baby shoes. So cute, but so impractical. He wears the soft booties or socks, but anything else is like bricks on his feet and he's not happy until he kicks them off. We got lots of expensive little Nike trainers and such and he's never even had them on once.

Conversely, only pack what you really need. Also it might be useful to pack a "hospital bag" and a separate "labour bag". We packed everything but the kitchen sink into the labour bag - snacks, drinks, reading material, spare clothes, ipods and speakers, warm socks, towels, cloths, etc. - expecting labour to take 24hours... but the little guy popped out an hour after we got to the hospital and we never even cracked open the labour bag! What a waste of packing and unpacking and adding and repacking and making a list and buying snacks - although I suppose it did keep me occupied in the last few weeks of pregnancy.
