ew, not only is that pseudo-cowboy gunbelt thing more hideous than the ubiquitous phone holster, it's also just asking for some "accident" to happen to your expensive equipment.

$800?!? Affordable is such a relative term.

Also, Etsy is a great place to grab art and even the big pieces stay closer to the $300 mark in many cases....

So when we who like "old crap" from thrift stores can find very few treasures, it's because some hipster has gobbled them up and down something like this to them?

For shame....

Just a note about programmable thermostats--you can save yourself the $150-200 for one if you simply take 1.5 seconds to adjust the temp yourself. I have been renting for 6 years and keep my heating/AC bills super low by doing the following:
-turn the unit OFF while I am not in the house.
-use blinds advantageously (esp when I'm out)-closed in the summer to keep heat out and up in the winter to allow the sun to warm the space
-adjust the temp right before bed
-use sweaters and blankets to stay toasty
-use fans to stay cool

one last thing--it is a MYTH that it costs more to cool down or heat up your home than it does to maintain a steady temp. 10-20 minutes will return my unit to the temp set on thermostat when I return home. my bills are almost always only 1/3-1/2 those of other renters in our community.

skip the programmable thermostat and do it yourself!
