WOW! What an incredibly well done apartment! I love the DIY aspects and all of the little touches of personality/interest. Really great use of a small place.

Looks like a great place to spend time with family and friends! Love the windows and light. Your vintage style bathroom mirror/cabinet is so great.

I really like this home. The windows in the stairwell, the skylights, the vanity in the upstairs bathroom, the unique collection of pictures, etc. It always makes me happy to see older items given new life :)

In thinking about this for a moment, it seems that the vintage style you want will be largely defined by the accessories and not necessarily the paint- so I say browse magazines and the internet and pick a color you love that isn't ultra trendy so that it will have lasting appeal. What a great blank slate you have! Enjoy!

Totally agree with sally305 and ShalMayan! I hate to see an old piece thrown out- so what's the harm in a little paint and new fabric if it gives the chair new life and use for years to come? Good job- looks fresh and fun :)

I don't think there's anything wrong with painting a piece of furniture to make it more to your liking! Great job giving something a new look and new life in your home :)

Nice job! Your place looks inviting, original, and fun! Really like your furniture, especially the fact that you've used items that aren't in sets (like the table and chairs).

I love the way you use the limited space you have and the way you've arranged the furniture. Nice artwork and furniture choices as well! Excellent job!

This is such a great place! The light is amazing and I love the splashes of color and art/photos. I am not a generally a fan of having many small items on display because I hate a cluttered space, but the collection of clocks looks just perfect.

I just bought a 220 thread count solid colored duvet (comes with two shams also) on overstock.com for $28.49 and free shipping. It got mostly great buyer reviews, so I'm hopeful that I'm happy with it when it arrives.

As far as the use of duvet covers in general, I need one because we have a king size down comforter (cold Upstate NY winters!) that was a wedding gift but 1) I'm not in love with the color, and 2) our cuddly pooch sleeps in our bed, so I can't wash that gigantic down comforter as often/as easily as I can wash a duvet. Duvets are also easy to store and change if you get sick of the style.

Great use of salvaged items-so many interesting finds! I love that bathroom vanity, and of course, the hand-crafted whale! Nice job :)

My husband and I are hoping to buy a place of our own within the next few years, and while we'd love to find a place with some original details and character, it's nice to see that a cookie-cutter condo can be given great personality when the right colors and pieces are introduced. Holy run on sentence!

This reminds me of my parents home, which is a small cabin in upstate NY. I do love homes like this, but they tend to feel a bit dark because of all the dark wood paneling. Lovely and cozy place though- especially love the green bed frame and the bed skirt on the other bed. Nice job keeping this place's character!

I just read my first comment and decided to add something so that it's not so negative! I do love this place! It is really beautiful, has many interesting items, and is obviously an apartment that is lived in and loved. I just happen to be someone who needs things to be put away when not in use (that's just me!), but I imagine that's difficult in this small space and I do admire the renter's decision not to stage it. A really lovely place :)

Absolutely love it! The dressers, woman's vanity and chair, and bedding are all to die for- not to mention the rugs, bedskirts, and lamps! I love the daybed full of pillows too, but I would prefer the frame not be blue. There aren't many tours that I go through the pictures several times! Very nice place :)
