Is storing roasted garlic in oil safe or is that still risky?

My parents had a butcher open up near their home in Georgia. They went in one day and asked if he had locally sourced or organic meats. He said he didn't carry it because he didn't feel there was a market for it (they lived near several rather wealthy neighborhoods). The shop was closed within a year.

Sorry, that should say "I don't consider wanting..."

I don't think wanting a family to spend quality time together and enjoy a meal that required lots of preparation and effort to be "self important" in the least. It's a perfectly reasonable request.

I really like Hunt's new HFCS-free ketchup. Not as sweet and very tomato-y.

I haven't received my June issue yet :( The May issue was great; I made several recipes and they were all excellent. Since this is the first year I've subscribed, I cannot comment on the changes but I have enjoyed the issues I've received so far.

I'm not an extreme couponer by any means, but I do use coupons regularly and spend time each week menu planning and matching up store sales with coupons. We save 40-50% each month on groceries and we eat lots of fresh foods and rarely ever buy junk food. There are plenty of coupons available from brands like Stonyfield, Organic Valley, Muir Glen, Earthbound Farm, Cascadian Farm, Kashi, Simply Organic, etc. I buy milk, yogurt, salad mix, spinach, cereal, frozen fruits & veggies; all with coupons. If I can save a dollar on organic milk, why not use a coupon? It seems that people who complain about there not being coupons for healthy products, aren't really looking for them.

LOL @ Hanne B.

In the time it takes to drive to Kinkos, wait in line for someone to cut your paper, then pay, couldn't you have cut them in half yourself? Just do it while watching TV or a movie.

I decided to start showering every other day around my freshman or sophomore year in college. I was really skeptical of how it would work because my face and hair would be oil slicks each day when shower time arrived. What I found out is that my body adjusted to the new shower schedule since I wasn't stripping them bare each day. After a little bit of an adjustment period, I could easily skip a day with no icky oily feeling and no BO.

Now I shower 3-4 times a week and have no issues. It may not work for everyone, particularly those who gets dirty and sweaty from work or exercise everyday, but if you think this will leave you gross and smelly if you skip a daily shower, at least give it a try. It will probably take a week or two to adjust, but it's really not as disgusting as many people seem to think it is. Having body odor to the point that a person can't even skip a daily shower sounds like an issue in itself.

I agree with the polish chick. These cookies were awful. If I ever attempt them again, I'm going with the King Arthur recipe that's similar. 2 1/4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 cup of cocoa seems much more sane than 3 freaking cups of powdered sugar and 1/2 cup of cocoa. These were like chewy black circles of powdered sugar. So nasty.

J.R. Liggett's shampoo bars are my favorite. They make my hair look and feel so natural. None of those icky shine coatings you get from other shampoos. I tried Burt's Bees' rosemary bar and was completely let down. My hair felt like straw. I tried J.R. Liggett's after that and haven't looked back.
