I wouldn't call this lovely space funky, it is all beautifully organised and uncluttered, easy to see serious work goes on here. Love it.

I resent the cleaning I have to do when I set my drink on the edge of a coaster and it yips over! It has put me completely off coasters, if there's a ring on the table I'll just wipe it off, no big deal.

I got up from the computer, marched into the kitchen and threw away the chipped bowls which have been irritating me FOR EVER. There was only one left unchipped so I threw that out too for good measure, it had spoon marks on its cheap nasty bottom. I feel so free!

Fitted sheets are horrible no matter how you fold them, they always ruck up in use and show what should be decently covered. Better to spend time learning to make a perfect hospital corner with a proper flat sheet.

Best thing in our bathroom remodel is the heated towel rail, so the towels stay fresh and dry. Biggest regret is not putting in heated flooring, but since the new laminate swells along the joins we might have a chance to remedy that!
I am pleased with our Molger storage stools from Ikea, they hold a lot and provide a place to sit when I wash the cat's face twice a day, and I always brush my teeth sitting down so I don't rush.
A high shelf over the door stores loo paper in the little half-hall which not only gives a pleasing degree of privacy but also stores the linen cupboard.
Makeup, hairdryer and such live in the old school desk which serves as my dressing table in the bedroom, much better place for them! No hogging the bathroom, no steam, and no leaning over the sink to get my mascara into focus.

jng2b, a flat sheet stays tighter than a fitted one, and it all depends on the amount of tuck you have under the mattress. Manufacturers invented fitted sheets as a way of saving on fabric, they are literally cutting corners, and too often their sheets ride up at the side to show an unappetising slice of mattress.
