Awesome! It's looks very welcoming and comfortable, where one can immediately snuggle down on the couch and admire the scenery. This is just me, but Yeh for another under 800 square feet home with 2 bedrooms

Very cute, I like the star garlands, they give a sense of whimical without the foo-foo. The ceiling is the fifth wall and just screaming for deco attention. The home looks warm, festive, and inviting.

My favorite! And this is coming from someone who can't abide by pale or beige walls. The living room looks very airy and spacious. Is there a dining area? It didn't seem like there is one from the floor plans.

Don't care because they will NEVER live with me (again)

My sister's house: "It's so small and dirty" (hello, it's a working farm)

My house: "It's so small" (translation: "when we move in where are you going to sleep?")

What Do Your Parents Think of Your Home?
4/4/13 2:15 PM

Sadly yes, it started 2 months ago. I've never hooked up the TiVo or the DVR dumped on me by family; if I miss an episode, well, maybe I'll catch it on rerun, or on youtube.... or maybe not.

Then one night I live tweeted a show, tweets were retweeted and favorited, people messaged me how much they loved my live tweets.....watch my sense of validation inflate ......

Has Social Media Changed the Way You Watch TV?

My fireplace is kind of low so the TV over it is not that high compared to most pictures you see. Also I hide the TV by putting hinges on a painting and attached it to a wood frame attached to the wall and wha-la, the painting swings close when TV not in use and it looks like I have a painting over the fireplace instead of a TV.

Jukles, perhaps you're young but I remember as a kid when family TVs were low to the ground since they were huge box monstrosities that came in their own wooden console that weighs a ton. Everytime I see TV in the fireplace (which makes it a total of two), I smile at the old family memories when it was the norm for TV is be low to the ground.

Anyway, beautiful home. Light, airy, minimalist, lovely!

This is the first time I want to jump through the computer screen and dive bomb into a bed. Seriously, you just may have changed my mind about having an army of pillows on the bed.

As for where do the pillows go at night, don't they stay on the bed? On the other hand I know a woman who got a tall decorative wire waste basket for her husband to chuck the extra pillows to when they need the bed.

MissFifi, I lived in N.Dakota for a spell (talk about living on the cheap!) and we saw too many Canadians showing up in our hospitals for standard treatments and surgeries. I think it was similar to medical tourism, like how Americans go to other counties for inexpensive dental treatments. I wished I had the guts to ask them but I was a punk-ass kid who refused to talk to adults.

So lovely and elegant, really loving the dark walls and white curtains. Gorgeous! My first thought was does somebody actually live/sleep there because it's so pristine that it looks like it belongs in a magazine. The sheer bed curtains gives it a comfy homey vibe, I could stay in that bed forever.

Segacs, what is the language police? Is that like Joan River's Fashion Police show that critiques people's language skills instead of their style sense?

Beautiful! I normally can't abide by white walls but this is beautifully done and very serene. The branch decoration is my favorite, adding rustic touch of the outdoor.

I've always had wonderful, considerate landlords and in turn I try my best to be an ideal tenant. I think I have a sixth sense for choosing the right place/landlord because for the first 18 years I watch my parents be less than ideal landlords of their 5 properties. The only bad thing I witnessed were them holding their tenants captive audiences for their political rants and diatribes and endless litany of their family grudges going back 20, 30 years. What I heard from others made me want to sink into the earth. Every summer I painted my parents' properties and when the tenants see me coming they duck and run for cover, probably thinking I would be as psycho as their landlords.

I totally agree that dark color opens up the room, it's why I installed dark wood floors and recently painted the south facing wall a deep charcoal color. For a small apartment the right dark color can really open up the space and makes it feel airy, I don't why it works but it does.

I'm not a techie nerd by a long shot and even I get very annoyed by the magic technology on CSI and movies. Anybody with an iPhone camera (that means almost everybody) knows blowing up/zooming in your pictures only shows indecipherable fuzziness.

Dissing and complaining about family members, who appear to have committed the crime of having their own life. I caved and advised a young lady that her twitter vents would only further drive away her brother, not bring him back to the dysfunctional family fold.

My sister went from being allergic all her life to cats to now so tolerable that she barely reacts to her 2 barn cats, though they aren't allowed in her bedroom so the cats happily take over her daughter's room. This happened after the family left their filtered suburban home and moved into rural life with a working farm (read: lots of dirt and animal poop). I don't know if it's just coincidence but my sister do think the constant exposure to pollen and animal stuff built up her tolerance.

As Esan suggested, look around in elderly communities for people seeking pet companionship but can't handle the rambunctiousness of a kitten. 2 cats who gives eachother attention will be less pressure on the new owner.

Keep the indoor lights, silver & gold babbles, and the greenery decorations (homemade garlands and swags) up while the more gaudy Christmas-y decorations are put away. I have flameless candles on timers so when I come home from work, my apartment is lit up by the ambiance of several flickering "candles".
