I roll up my tank tops and "file" them like this in cardboard boxes (old 12-pack instant cup noodle boxes) - so the shirts kind of look like cans of soda. It works well because I can see everything and if I take out one tank, the rest basically stay in place (I think it works better when everything is packed tightly).
