That white lamp couldn't possibly be from Target, can it?

Wow. What a great improvement. The room looks so much more comfy, relaxed and inviting. It's always nice to have seating view out towards the window, as you've done with the couch. It's amazing how simply moving furniture around can completely change a room. Great, inspiring post. Love it.

Sleeping directly next to your clothes is not a good idea. They carry "outside" energy from the day, which does not promote restful sleep. And even if you don't follow feng shui, clothes still carry dirt, sweat, grime, and are reminders of work and un-restful things. The bedroom should be a peaceful sanctuary away from all that..

I'm confused. Does this post mean you photographed Jeremy & Joe's headboard, then they moved, and you bought it from them and installed it in your home?

I think better photography would help. The angles on the photos are so extreme, it's really hard to tell what the kitchen looks like. Not really much of a "wow" factor.

I think it really helps the comparison and the "wow" factor when the pics are taken from the exact same angle.

Love it. It's so my style. Absolutely love the mismatched chairs around the table. Very easy, relaxed, comfy, light & airy, yet still interesting and eclectic. Great job.

Doesn't look comfortable at all. You'd fall off if you wanted to stretch out. You'd have to stay in the fetal position. So it's too small to sleep in, but too big for a chair.

Just move the credenza below the TV. There's absolutely no reason you can't. It will cost no money to flip flop the credenza & lack shelf, it will look better, and you'll love it once it's done. I know it's a drag and you don't want to bother. But just suck it up & switch the two. You'll be so happy you did, and it's a lot simpler than coming up with all sorts of ways to put a band-aid on the problem.

This is a great post, and perfect timing. Just yesterday I was looking for plug-in sconces and wondering what resources there were. Perfect!

Nice, but kind of depressing knowing that the townships (slums) outside of Cape Town, which stretch for miles and miles, are so nearby. There are millions of people without proper housing, most without water or electricity. But if you're rich, you can pretend to "slum it" in your very own luxurious trailer! Kind of sick.

Wow what an extraordinary transformation. Great job. Love it. Especially love how nothing really sticks out as "Ikea." Everything looks luxe, upscale & sophisticated. Bravo!

I think "grellow" is appropriate. The CB2 copy says it's grey & yellow. Whereas chartreuse is yellow with a little blue in it—which is a completely different color than "grellow."

Grellow. Really?

Beautiful! I think the price is a bargain, considering they are hand-made one-of-a-kind and will last a lifetime. Most lamps from CB2, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and Room & Board are in that price range, and aren't hand-made.

I'm offended that Jess has to stifle her creativity, taste & self expression in deference to her husband. So much for women's lib. She should be able to decorate with girly stuff if she wants. Why can't the hubby stifle his butchness instead? Or just spread the girly/butch stuff evenly? As it stands, both have to settle on a generic compromise neither is really happy with.
