Nice home, Mimi, from a fellow Bronx girl. I love the mirrors in the bedroom and the color scheme all over is so rich. I couldn't do that in my home!

This house is gorgeous. Our livingroom colors are actually the same, with that grey-green color, and the gold and teal/turquoise accents. You helped with some composition issues I was working on. Thanks for the inspiration.

I agree with redcrayons, paint the room. I would go for a warm pale blue or a warm grey to take away the sterile feeling. Next I would move the bed, with the headboard on the left wall (looking at the window) or even headboard against the window for a dramatic effect. New curtains. Leave the picture set where it is, bring the chairs over there to make a little sweet sitting area with one of the night stands as a center piece. Some comfy pillows with colors to play off the painting and dog bed. Hang the mirror above the bed. Mount the TV on the wall if you can afford it. Get some sparkling picture frames and some personal touches.
