As a photographer, I enjoyed reading this. As a side note, film processing itself is a chemical process using three chemical steps: developer, stop bath and fixer.

Up until the recent decade's proliferation of coffee shops serving in paper cups, coffee and tea once went hand-in-hand with a cup and saucer. Personally, I think coffee deserves the propriety of a proper cup.

We're a shoeless household. Taking off our shoes upon entering the house keeps the house clean, which results in less electricity vacuuming. In the winter it does get cold, so these slippers would come in handy.

I have never heard of soap nuts. Thank you for telling me about these. For those not near an Ikea, you can find folding hang dry racks at ethnic markets too. Here in LA, you can readily find these racks in Korea Town or Little India.

tasterspoon brings up a good point. some of my cycling jerseys and shorts claim to be antibacterial. I never really thought about how such a claim was achieved, but now I wonder. Must double check the label.

One more note about the cost of tricycles. Walmart, the bar for low priced and "made in low wage paying country X", sells their basic trike for a little under $300. So $400 for a bike shop tuned quality trike is just what the going rate is.

You can definitely find of these for less than $400 if you scour thrift stores or any shop that sells used bikes (rarer these days). Old Schwinn Trikes I see go for around $180 or so. But walk into any bike shop these days, and you'll realize that $400 is the going to rate. The cost of goods have gone up over the years for all things bicycles. I paid $2000 for a top of the line Campy Record carbon fiber Kestrel road bike back in 2001. Now in 2010, a bike of the similar caliber can be around $5000.
