More: I might not comment much but I've followed AT diligently since 2005. That counts for something of an opinion. I agree with several other posters - if you're going to make upgrades, please fix what actually was wrong with the old format. The spelling errors are a no-no. Followers can have a typo. AT should not, at least not so many and there really are too many. AT is suppose to be a professional site. Followers are not professionals. Typos are bad news. There are some today. It is annoying and not fitting for a site as popular and well followed as AT.

I don't mind the new "look" but frankly, no one needs an additional link to click on or another button. It becomes tiresome. We all have plenty to do.

I come to AT for several reasons, one of which is to relax a bit and see what's up in, oh say, Chicago (I live in LA) or to look at some bizarre little thing I remembered that inspired me in the past. Now, that's one more link to handle to get to goal.

The old format was wonderful. Visually appealing and relatively easy to maneuver. This one is fine and I'll cope but please - IF NOTHING ELSE - please have your witers use spell/grammar check. I can't do that here on AT comments. I have my own blog. I use spell/grammar check, and I'm just one gal with a small group of interested parties. Considering your audience, you could do better in this realm.

Very nice room. Personally, I'd prefer more than one photo of a corner. I don't think that says much. And I agree about the crooked lamp shade....and the cost of sheets. Geez. Things are tight in the world, you know.

Seems to me the oily spots were on there in the first place. Perhaps a really healthy pre-sanding would have been advised. Otherwise, I can't imagine archival glue causing that. Nice idea, though, and bright, sunny color.

Not my taste but gorgeous. They have done a fantastic job. The house is warm and welcoming and rich looking, and fitting for Alexandria. They master bedroom is stunning!!! And, I can't believe I'm saying this - that tea cup chandelier is incredible. Fun, interesting, all that stuff. All-in-all, this is quite a beautiful home.

Why am I still surprised that brilliantly talented people are criticized for the most inane things...the loft is amazing, her artwork is amazing, she's obviously extremely successful in zillions of ways - do I care what she's wearing? I think not.

You DID really kick a** and in such a classy way. I totally see someone in a long black dress walking in, silently looking around, turning on the 4 in jimmy choo strappy heals in black, gold trimmed, with little bows randomly placed along one side of each shoe, lifting her skirt, sitting down on the bowl and saying "Oh my. I want to take a bath in here, now. Could you bring the cognac and a glass? I'm going to be longer than I expected. And bring my phone" Its elegant and I love it. I love it. I love it.

I lean toward more neutral tones and still think my fav apartment of all AT time was patricktoo's. But this place is amazing. Seriously? How could anyone ever be unhappy in this home....its gorgeous without being overdone and that, I would imagine, takes some talent. The wallpaper, the everthing, is just so amazing. Well done. I would suggest AT convince Alex to do a regular column. I think we all want to visit.

Very nice. Curious. It's okay to have a home office in a closet here but not to have a toilet in a laundry room in the other place? Perplexes me. Functionality should always come first IMO

Beautiful apartment. I love the shoe collection as art and the pink pillows and other spashes of pink. The place is so neat but it doesn't look contrived for the photo shoot, it looks fantastic and doable. And what a happy person. That's reflected in her space, and such a beautiful smile. Very inspiring on all counts.

@ pepper and others. I saw Antonio coming out of Ralph's on Barrington & Olympic several months ago. Geez.....dare I say....the guy is hot and seemed to be really, really nice. Sigh....way too young for me but a girl can dream. :)

I'm not a lover of vintage per se but this is a wonderful place. It's so clean! Geez, a studio in Hancock Park - nice to find. I shop on 3rd between Fairfax and LaBrea and walk the side streets for exercise stretching my neck to peek in windows. I love the neighborhood, even on the fringe. This apartment is so sweet, and so inviting. Fabulous job....

I can't imagine any furniture really being defunct. Everyone has a different sense of priority. Telephone benches have multiple uses as does just about everything else I can think of. Otherwise, garage sales and antique stores would be defunct. We are all so use to planned obsolescense. I grew up in the late 50's and 60's and would kill to have some of the pieces my mother had early on. Something about old wood, old leather, and old memories that is richly grounding no matter where the thing is being used. And geez, hall trees. Totally functional, beautiful, especially if you've lived in a cooler climate. In California, not so much.

I love looking at RH, but I wouldn't shop there. I think they are an example of what happens when people cease to have their own ideas and look elsewhere. I would much rather have a real thing that is legitimately old and has character that I can play with, change, refashion, and end u[ with a great piece. I think places like RH are fine for people who have tons of money and little creativity or who actually care that they have the latest and supposedly greatest. I love AT. Best place for smart decorating so I see the merit of a post about RH and other design giants. But let's get real. Can those large pieces fit in our small spaces? Do we all need to shop in a neutral color store? Storminheaven is so right. How could anyone fit themselves on those stools beneath that table? It's all for show and not for any family I know. Even my cat couldn't sit on that stuff.

These are interesting. I get the fact that you have done mock ups of a space within a space. What about those of us who don't have space within a space, or who don't have square spaces. Any ideas there?
