I am married. Frankly, the SO/boyfriend/girlfriend labels are silly after a certain point/age. In my opinion. So I am married, because I met someone who also felt great about saying "I DO". There was no cajoling, deciding, etc. We both felt that this was the right thing for us to do. Period. Modern Matrimony: Who Benefits the Most? |

We are just in the final stages of a kitchen remodel. The old kitchen was 25 years old, cabinets were particle board and yellowed from age. While our stove was functionally fine, I wanted a slide in to avoid having a gap between my counter and the stove. I have the uncanny ability to drop things into those gaps daily.

to FALLINGUP, STILETTREEL and JBFL. Can you be any more insensitive? Some people who read this blog DO have kids. If you don't want to read the post. DON'T. Others do. It always amazes me how some people can be so hostile towards mothers and children. Getting Through Bedrest with a Toddler |

to install the large tile you have to have 100% flat surface. the smaller tile is much more forgiving. Tile Trends: Two Extremes |

my reason for getting a toddler bed is really simple. kids grow up too fast. it is nice to give them a bit of a longer childhood. It slows up the growing up and that makes me happy. Also, I like that she's comfortable getting in and out of bed vs getting in and out of our much higher bed. The Great Toddler Bed Debate Reader Intelligence Report |

I think it has a lot to do with the house and what you plan to do with it. Mine is 30 years old, in a not quite suburbian not quite downtown neighbourhood. And I'm keeping an open mind about selling. Which are all points that I consider when installing countertops. I don't want the "lived in look" because I don't believe the ppl who will come to buy this house 10 years down the road are going to be looking for this. as a mom to a 2.5 year old girl, I have to say that we have yet to cross this bridge. as much as I agree that we should follow our kid's needs and wants. I also would never decorate a room for her that I do not like myself. After all, this is my house. And she's part of our family. Give kids some credit. Westboro/Island park has very little to none historical significance, so I can see why there wouldn't be any (or very few) rules regulating new construction. In Europe, where the history is much richer, I can really appreciate fighting for the "old charm". Who Owns the Streetscape? |

good thing we have a king-size bed. Two adults + one cat + occasionally, a toddler = full bed, and we're looking to add more :) (cats and babies). Reader Roundup: Pets in Your Bed? |

I never used any scented products on my kid. No wipes of any kind, as little detergent as possible, etc. BUT I would NEVER give up scented candles or my own perfume. Unless the child is allergic or sensitive from the get go. Without any medical reasons, you're just setting your kids up for having difficulty living with smells later on in life. when I was in university I had to clean my room/apartment before I could sit down to study for exams or write papers. Seriously. I felt so much calmer, so much more organized and IN CONTROL. I very strongly believe that a clean house is the 1st thing on the road to sanity for me. ok, maybe not the whole house, but at least the kitchen. I try to do my best to have my kitchen in order. That keeps me grounded and ready to take on the world (or my toddler). Get Going: What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do |

PS. while traveling I put my wrinkled clothes on a hanger in the bathroom at the hotel. Turn on the shower with hot hot water and leave it for 10-15 minutes. No wrinkles. Works every time like a charm. It's in the Details: The Case for Steaming Curtains |
