In Berkeley, I love love love going to Lhasa Karnak! Most of their spices are about $1.00/oz, which is WAY cheaper than what you find at a grocery store. Not to mention a much wider variety of spices, and generally much fresher! Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | The Experience of Bulk Spices |

Actually, that's probably a pumpkin. Most zucchini plants are more clustered around a central point. And zucchini leaves are usually a bit more pointed instead of the nice round happy pumpkin leaves. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Green Around the Corner: An Edible Front Yard |

Another thing to consider: can you microwave with them? #5 Plastic is generally the same as the non-recyclable yogurt containers, which won't explode in your microwave, but also aren't necessarily microwave safe... Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Recycline Food Storage |

The fact that the "green" aesthetic has potentially become decoupled from actual green practices is a little off-putting. It'd be interesting to think about/find out whether or not the "green" aesthetic also inherently promotes green practices (even if it's sans fully green practices?) the smaller they get, the more practical it is to keep one with you. it's hard to keep a canvas bag on hand all the time, but these synthetic material ones crush down to something more compact halfway decently. with any luck it'll be able to fit into a smaller pocket than the ones on cargo pants!
