Trash it. It won't last. The bottoms of the drawers in those cheapie dressers pop out with the slightest bit of weight in them. Trust me, we just got rid of a very similar partical board dresser that was in my daughter's room. When it was just baby clothes, it was fine, but as she grew, it became clear that it was useless. I found a solid wood dresser at a consignment shop, refurbished it & it wound up costing about the same. Inexpensive does not always mean better. Sometimes you'll wind up having to spend more money fixing the cheap thing & trying to make it work. How Can I Jazz Up Inexpensive White Particle Board Dresser? Good Questions |

I'm in the "if it looks better painted, then paint it" camp...and these look better painted. That said, the cushions look...er, uh, not so hot in a print, still kinda grandma-ish. I would've gone with a solid...maybe a vintage French grainsack look. DEFINITELY do away with that rug. YIKES! Before & After: Vintage Settee MakeoverKnot All that I Seam |

I can't stand seeing all these houses that are SO impersonal that they seem like model homes. What's the point? It's my house! We're military, we're away from our families so we put family photos around our homes. I want my home to be beautiful but I also want it to reflect who I am and who we are. Before our most recent move, I noticed that our dryer was taking 2-3 cycles to dry & our laundry room was getting really humid when it ran. I was perplexed (& more than a little irritated) because it was only about 3 years old. One weekend, I finally got my husband to disconnect it, pull it out from the wall, take the back off & vacuum it out. Hmm...not much lint there...that's odd. Let's take the ducting out of the wall & see what's going on there. Y'all will never believe what we found. A HUGE BIRD'S NEST. The builder (very conveniently) put our laundry room on the 2nd floor, but inconveniently did not put any screen on the vent to prevent critters from getting in. The little birdies found their way in & built a massive condo that went well into the flexible silver ducting. We had to replace the ducting (luckily it's cheap at Lowe's) and then get a stick to poke evict the birds from the wall. I'm not even gonna talk about the bird pee that was all over the floor behind the dryer. Ew. Thank GOD we were renting that house & didn't have to worry about figuring out how to put screen on that vent. Now the dryer works like new, the house we're in has laundry on the first floor & the ducting has screens so no critters can get in! In our house at Ft. Benning (very, very old jr. Officer housing) only had one bathroom. It was ok when our daughter was still in diapers & Ryan was deployed. Then he got home & the kiddo was potty trained. Three in one very small 1930s style loo. NO FUN! Couples with Separate Bathrooms |

Yeah, having casters on furniture is great...until one gets lost from your coffee table during a cross country move & it's a totally non-standard size & virtually impossible to replace. Tons of fun. Furniture on Wheels: Mobile & Versatile |

There's a big mess of them outside of my daughter's school today. I tried to figure out what to do with them when I saw them. This is a great idea! Les Fourmis' Campaign Sign Reuse Montreal |

I kept my phone in my purse until my husband deployed. When he went to Iraq I never knew when he would call so I kept it on me at all times including, work, sleep, bathroom, etc. Why 83 Percent of Millennials Sleep with their Phones |

I did that. We're military and moved from GA to TX May 2009. I couldn't look at every single house that I was interested in when so when I'd find a house on the MLS, I'd look at it and the neighborhood on Google Maps. Saved me and my realtor a TON of legwork. I knew I loved the curb appeal & neighborhood of our new house before I even flew into TX for my house hunting trip. :) It's a must for anyone doing a long distance house hunt. I can't read with music playing that has words. It's like the words coming at me from 2 different sources get all jumbled up in my head. Oddly, I can do math with lyrical music on and (back in college), I could do Russian with it on as well. Weird. My Biggest Tech Peeve? Noise Pollution |
