I did this a couple of years ago -- I had some white half-height Billys and I sprayed the backer with spray adhesive, then laid down fabric that complemented the room and used a credit card to smooth it out. As Pi mentioned, the backer was very flimsy, but I stretched it taut and used a staple gun to secure it firmly. Then I made sure any excess fabric was stapled down or trimmed. They don't even look like IKEA that way :) Buy or DIY: Patterned Billy Bookcase |

Hey minilauren, maybe since she's asking she likes her sectional, and obviously is excited to invest in hardwood floors. Not that it isn't good to raise ideas outside the box (or boxy sectional?) but, just saying. What Size Rug for Large Family Room Layout? Good Questions |

I think the white paint is a fantastic choice, but the fabric, not so much. The pulls visually blend into the fabric, and the white of the fabric doesn't match the white paint. If the owner does choose to change it up, though, it would be easy -- find some different fabric and maybe pulls, and only put a wee bit more time in. Other than sanding the poly, you could probably just put a different, contrasting fabric right on top. Before & After: A Dorothy Draper-Inspired Chest |

I don't think it's negative to point out grammar, spelling and usage errors. I hope that folks pick up on them! "Alright" might be more properly classed as a usage error; as noted by M&W it's in common, informal usage, but in just about every style or usage guide out there, it is noted as a misspelling of "all right." "All right" is definitely preferred, particularly in formal writing. Holden's Sweet Literary Space Nursery Tour |

This house is making me DROOL. I wish I had the discipline to have such a streamlined space! I also love the little "mushrooms" made of tree stumps and crocheted tops! I may just have to borrow that idea ... :) Two Architects Create Their Own Home in a 1909 HouseHouse Tour |

OK, it's totally adorable, but I have no idea what she means by bibliotheque (library). I can understand that the rest of the house might be library-esque, but as for a kitchen? I don't see it. I'm trying to understand the historical background of these hats, because they smack of cultural appropriation to me.
