Anyone how well these would do on a light-colored ceiling vs. a dark colored ceiling?

Hey minilauren, maybe since she's asking she likes her sectional, and obviously is excited to invest in hardwood floors. Not that it isn't good to raise ideas outside the box (or boxy sectional?) but, just saying.

I have almost the exact same layout and I have the exact same issue ... my wife says we are not spending the money on a 8x10 or larger rug. (She seems to think an 8x5 will work, centered in the sectional's center, with just the coffee table touching it. I think not!) Very interested in what the thoughts are here ...

I don't think it's negative to point out grammar, spelling and usage errors. I hope that folks pick up on them! "Alright" might be more properly classed as a usage error; as noted by M&W it's in common, informal usage, but in just about every style or usage guide out there, it is noted as a misspelling of "all right." "All right" is definitely preferred, particularly in formal writing.

VIEWPOINT FROM A NON-CHICKEN OWNER: My brother and sister-in-law raise chickens, and unless you are planning to truly keep them as pets, I can tell you this:

If you think of yourself as "parents" or chickens raised for eggs as "pets," you are NOT ready to have chickens. When chicks are shipped to you, they often die in the process; any number of things can kill chickens, including things like the dog you already have; they're livestock, raised for food (whether eggs or meat). You will have to make tough decisions. It is definitely not for folks like me who are total softies.

Also, they poop pretty much constantly and their coops are basically incredibly gross.

Does anyone know what the peach/orange flowers in the first photo are, that have petals that create sort of little cups? So gorgeous!

FYI, a "spendthrift" (one word) is someone who spends a lot, not a little ... though I know it looks like it should mean the opposite.

Make it. Buy some floral wire (available pretty much any crafts store) and get to twistin'!
