You are 100% correct every one of your suggestions add to the comfort and tranquility of a bedroom.

I've incorporated all but one, the fan. There was a fan but we removed it. A fan is much cheaper than lowering the A/C in the summer. Cool temps are the best for sleeping.

Great post.

Actually I've seen and done a few rooms in red and green. When a client asks for those colors - Xmas is always my first thought and we talk about it. There are tons of fabrics today with a red and green theme which don't bring to mind Xmas. However it's not usually the berry red's and kelly green's of the holiday. Red and green offers lots of non-holiday interior decor options.

Hmmm, I'm going to try this. Separating the eggs is a great idea. Funny, I naturally separate them when I make Dainish pancakes (Aebleskiver). Though I do whip them separately too. Can't wait to try your recipe this weekend. Thanks!

I can't be the only one who notices this: the contact lens.

With my contacts in I can cut, slice and dice pounds of onions without an issue. With my glasses on, I have to put my head in the freezer - which doesn't work for long.

I keep a cinnamon stick in my teakettle or make tea with apple cider which smells wonderful.

Ditto on:
Fresh coffee
sauted onions
cookies
basil
cilantro
bread

Slipcovers are an awesome fix to update a perfectly good although ugly piece of furniture. However, as someone previously noted - store bought slipcovers aren't so great. They never end up looking as wonderful as one hopes. Custom slipcovers aren't cheap but they are often less $$ than buying a whole new sofa or chair. Plus custom ones fit so well nobody knows it's a slipcover.

Ditto on the comment regarding in every room of the house. Good ideas for additional uses.

I have a bunch of antique ones for kitchen dry good storage. Beats plastic! Pens, pencils, markers and paintbrushes stand at attention in their own jars in my work area. Love em!

Nice choices. Yep, now that the weather has turned and the days are shorter I light candles every evening. It's much more inviting than just turning on another light.

Great job of bringing in the flavor while being mindful one is in the city. And yes, there is always the things clients like that may not happen elsewhere.

Nice job. You took an ugly kitchen and while re-using old made it fresh and modern. Ingenuity and research often produces much better results than a wad of cash. Very nice!

Very creative use of space. Books and bookshelves have been used for years as decoration. This brings a feeling of warmth to such a large area. Nice choice on thinking outside the box!

Hi Bernadette,

Carpet tile works super for runners. I have a very long hallway and group them together to make separate runners. Mannington Commercial has them, you have to go thru an architect or designer but they may be less expensive than what you can get retail and more choices.

Can you paint out your doors and trim around the doors? The ones that don't already match the wall. Right now they are unintended focal points. If you are handy, take a big artist canvas (between the light fixtures) and paint it a color... deep and dark. This will make this wall feel like it extends.
