A couple of years ago I read in a blog that a pet cat belonging to one of the bloggers had been sprayed with insecticide through a window screen. The cat was inside his own house enjoying the open window, behind the screen. The spray was a nerve poison, and though the cat was "saved, he has nerve damage and suffers many dismal problems.

I'm not as philosophical as many here. I think the people who attacked and murdered the bees (someone's private property) should be hunted down, convicted, and jailed for a long long time. The cat attacker too.

Good recipe, instrux, and photos for bagels at:

I'm always disappointed when something called by a specific name that has a specific standard of identity doesn't represent the standard of identity for the named item.

Bagels are supposed to be dense and so chewy that one's jaws get tired. They're delicious, and they fight back, and nothing else can compare.

Real bagels are made from high-gluten flour, from which "soft" and "light" breads are not made.

Donut-shaped rolls made from whole wheat or all purpose flour are not bagels. Folks who've never enjoyed a great bagel may like them, and more power to them, and folks who don't like great bagels may like them, and God bless them, but that doesn't mean that bread-donuts are bagels.
