Air conditioning is a definite requirement in Phoenix in the summer. And I've lived here all my life, so I've never really given it much thought. However, I do try to leave it off for as long as possible, as I prefer an open window when it's nice outside. One up side though is we hardly ever have to use heat. I think I only turned the heater on once last winter when it got particularly cold one day.

My fiance falls into the non-beer drinker category and even with the help of a bunch of beer lovers who have offered him tons of samples of really great beers he has not been converted.

The ONLY beer he's been able to tolerate and now is even beginning to like is Guinness.

Our second bedroom functions as an office/music room/guest room. We have a futon in there that allows for regular seating most of the time, but can fold out if we have guests spending the night.

Hm, I like the idea of it – it has a bit of a Tim Burton-esque feel to me – but I think it could only work in very specific spaces. I can see it looking cute in a window or shop display, or maybe even in some kind of outdoor/garden space, but it would probably drive me crazy in my own home.

I definitely need to unpack/decorate as soon as possible. I hate living in chaos. However, I'm not opposed to moving things around or changing things down the line if we decide we like a different arrangement. So in that case I can see decorating as being an ongoing, organic process.

Wow, this post really hits home considering we just moved into a new place about a week ago. Luckily we didn't move to an area too far away so we had some overlap between the two leases, which gave us much needed time to bring stuff over to the new place. Up until the move I was mostly just excited about being in the new plac, and couldn't wait to get all of the work behind us. But strangely, on the last night we were at the old place the rush of memories overwhelmed me and I became more sad about leaving than I realized I would. Overall though, I think the opportunity to re-assess what we own and how we use it and re-decorate outweighs the sadness.
