the diddy one is very classy. his taste has certainly improved since the early days. plush furnishings, nice colours, foscarini lights and what must be a very expensive sidetable and chair. i wonder if he had a hand in the design of that amazing office he had in 'get him to the greek'??? these docks are great for ambient 'non serious' listening but nothing more. i've got a zeppelin for background music- its ok, i use it when on the computer or doing housework. when its proper listening time, the musical fidelity/monitor audio system is employed. searched for ages to find good quality record frames as i wanted to create a feature wall with 3x3 rows for displaying my 70's jazz fusion and 90's psyche rock covers. The BEST available is by artvinyl.com. they come in black or white and have a nifty push touch facility allowing you to take out and replace record sleeves easily. also you can fit in a whole double record sleeve with records inside instead of the urban outfitters version which is very thin and flimsy. Meridian make great equipment and i'm sure this sounds good for a dock but a) it looks terrible. i know it uses nice materials but it really looks like a 1980's alarm clock. b) by virtue of having its speakers so close together, a realistic soundstage can never be created. one of my faves. keep coming back to this for inspiration. i love yellow, hate red but your fusion of the two has made me reassess this. one thing i am really frustrated about is the lack of yellow task lights. red/white/black/blue ones are a snip at £20-£50 but the only yellow one i could find is (a rather nice) one at bo concept for £160!!! any recommendations of where to get one in the uk? i really like the angelpoise- a very sturdy, well constructed and flexible lamp that looks as expensive as it is. i have a number of task lights (kind of addicted to them?) but the ultimate for me is the luceplan bap- stunningly simple, awesomely flexible and such a space age design. i think the lounge looks very inviting- a kind of Seventies cluttered cool. i love media on full display. although the cardboard storage looks the business from a distance up close i am sure it will seem aesthetically unpleasing and rather cheap. if i had it i would always have thought i should have bought a gloss white bontempi casa wave or b&b italia shelf x Build a Media Center Out of Cardboard | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |

if you can go for the established & sons clock- overpriced yes but nothing much i've seen comes close. very industrial and very unique. they come in three sizes, the one shown above being the middle size. i got the small (approx $350-$400) which shows just the time but you can get the $1800 large one which shows full day text. established and sons also make quite a unique twin dial circular clock called the two-timer that is more sensibily priced.
