If you're up in the area, try and get to a place called the Daintree Ice Cream Company. They have a huge orchard where they grow all sorts of off-the-wall, not seen in the states fruit, and then they make them into ice cream! I went there as part of a day tour through the Daintree Rainforest out of Port Douglas (north of Cairns). Otherwise I heartily recommend ANY meat pies you can get your hands on, as well as Kangaroo (pairs well with a local Shiraz), Barramundi and Tim Tams. The David Jones department store in Sydney has the most amazing food court in the basement worth a visit. Pick up some yum Aussie olive oil and pink Murray River salt! I used to work on the route in Coolidge Corner one year, but happened to have that day off. I still loved walking down Beacon from Cleveland Circle and watching everyone gather and cheer, just as much as I enjoyed going up to Heartbreak Hill with my family and watching as a kid. I haven't used them myself yet, but I recommend you scope out Trader Joe's for wee cans of Hatch chiles. They're not in stock at the moment, but snatch 'em up next time you see them on the shelf! Oh sh*t, thanks for the reminder! I've never been to Brimfield but everyone and their mother (including mine) has. I'm embarking upon a relocation, and between my see-everything-to-see-in-MA mission, the prospect of acquiring a semi-grownup home in TN, and the fact that my employer is paying all my moving costs, NOW is the time!! Haha, Brooke, I used to be the perfect party guest way back when in high school. I would wake up at 7am, while everyone else was passed out here and there, and proceed to clean up every bottle, cup, dish, etc. I could find. I'm really excited to watch this work in progress! I picked up a stereo cabinet curbside myself this summer - a smaller unit. I have no idea where to begin at all, though I know there's a local place that can help me repair the record player. I too am thinking of pimping it with ipod hookups.
