I did this exactly once. Giant pain. I am a patient woman but come on, this is not how ice cream is made, unless you are 6 and bored.

Everyone should do this exactly once, so they will have no problem parting with the $40 for the Cuisinart home churn.

I have had one of these for a year and love it; it's a tank.

Fits my standard cupholders.

Has only leaked once, which stopped when I adjusted the gasket.

Most brilliant feature: genius hinge system keeps lid from bonking you in the face as you drink!!

I have the classic $40 Cuisinart electric model. Very easy to find. I love it, it's held up nicely for over a year. Takes 20-30 minutes to freeze most recipes. Makes a quart.

(This is also the model David Lebovitz recommends for home cooks, if that helps.)
