I love this! I have a couple of these just sitting around, we can't put our records in them because when we do my son finds them suddenly irresistible, putting books in them instead makes so much sense!

We went camping last year with our son who was 15 months at the time, and we'll be taking him again later this year - its great!

We're campground campers and if you're staying at a campground really check out what your campground has to offer. Ours had city water, a grocery store 5 minutes away, a sandy beach, and lots to explore - it was perfect!

We didn't bother with a pack and play, our little guy was so worn out by the end of the day that he often fell asleep while we were out and about and we just put him down on a bed of blankets in the tent.

We had a baby carrier, not a stroller, but that choice depends on how long your staying and where you're camping, as well as whether or not you've ever used a carrier.

I think the best advice would be to just be flexible, their schedule could stay the same, but it could change too so don't make plans that are too concrete.

Enjoy!

Buzz's mom here

Strawberry79 - the sign above the door says 'Always kiss me goodnight'. The sign was a gift from my Grandma to Buzz and is a perfect sentiment for above his door, I often see it after putting him to bed at night and rush back to kiss his sleeping head.

gourmista - cluttered and overwhelming to some, cozy, warm and filled with memories to others, I love the look of a sparse kids room but at the end of the day its simply not our style.

I don't mind favours, but I think that it would be good to scale back on the quantity. Instead of spending money on a bag full of things, one or two items would suffice just fine. Last year at my sons party the kids got a colouring book, a pack of crayons, and bubbles, all from the dollar store. Everything can be used up and no candy. They get enough sugar from the cupcakes anyway, no need to add candy into the mix. I do enjoy the idea of maybe a container of play-doh and cookie cutter, or maybe a decorated cookie to enjoy at home.

Who did you contact about renting the space at Fort York? I would not have thought to have a birthday party at Fork York, I love it!

The two diaper bags that we've owned were picked out with my husband in mind. He doesn't have his own diaper bag but we share, when we go out I'll often wear the baby and he'll carry the diaper bag. I thought it might be nice to have a diaper bag that he didn't mind carrying, I think if I had picked out something with flowers I would be the one carrying it a whole lot more. Right now we use a camo patterned skip hop diaper bag.

We didn't have a autumn baby, ours was born in April, but lets face it, we live in Canada and it was still snowing when we were coming home from the hospital. I would suggest plenty of sleepers and light onesies. Our little guy wore a onesie under everything for the longest time. Baby hoodies or sweaters are great too as they wear them for a long time and layering is good.

If you are using an infant car seat I would suggest one of the inserts that zip up. Its dangerous for babies to wear a heavy coat or snowsuit in their car seat so blankets are handy.
