Indeed, natural latex foam is ridiculously expensive. There are other natural filler options, such as horsehair and kapok. Pricing for these materials depends on the supplier, but they usually cost more than regular foam too. Can I Use Natural Latex Foam for Furniture Upholstery? Good Question |

Don't rely on upholstery alone to tell you if a piece is antique or not. If it has been reupholstered, the customer may have asked for modern materials such as foam in place of horsehair. How To Tell Real Antique Furniture From Reproductions |
