Yay! I love Eggy Bread!! (Kent, UK) My mum used to make it all the time. No cinnamon or sugar, just straight - yum yum yum!! I know make eggy crumpets, all the lovely little holes soak up all the eggy yumminess! In fact, I had them last night for dinner with wedges and baked beans (total non-effort dins as my best friend was round to help me move house - total comfort food!) Is French Toast Really French? For me, it's the range of fresh food available. I'm lucky that, from where I live in South East England, i can be in Paris in a couple of hours. The cheese is my favourite thing - the stinkier the better! I trained as a pastry chef when I was younger and did a lot of work based on the classic French style. My favourite time every week was choosing the cheeses from the cheese van that came round - 500 perfect cheeses - I could have died in that van and been totally happy. I collect anything to do with matroyshka dolls (am adopting from Russia so it does have a link!) And every year I go for a long weekend to the same seaside village and bring back a pebble from the beach - they're in my fireplace. I used to collect matchbooks from bars and restaurants but you don't really see them now because of the smoking ban. And I collect champagne corks - my fruit bowl is full of them! They remind me of the good times. What's the Weirdest Thing You Collect? |

There's an ad on UK tv at the moment for Dulux paint that shows white stairs with a red runner painted on them so that every step is a 'red carpet moment'. Cheesy as hell but quite good fun. Great Stair Runner Solutions That Will Inspire You |

I live in a shared house and am just about to swop rooms - housemate is moving out and I'm taking advantage of moving into her room because it has tons more storage. And I think that's something really key - somewhere to put things so they're out of sight. It has been really bothering me this last year in this room to see piles of stuff, and not know where to put it. I've just invested in vac bags for clothes and spare bedding to go on the shelf in the fitted wardrobe (something else the new room has and the present room doesn't), and shoe boxes to save some space and organise things. Oooooh, this is really lovely. So often with retro places it can look like a movie set and a bit hackeneyed, but this is clearly a place that is lived in and loved. Love all the little details - makes me want to move to America, and specifically McGregor, so I can come to your shop! One of my fave house tours! x Jennifer's Vintage Glam Loft Green Tour |

I like traditional croque monsieur with bechamel, ham and cheese - if I make bechamel for something else (i.e lasagne) I keep some leftovers and make a croque monsieur for lunch the next day. I don't make rich dishes with bechamel very often so I don't have croque monsieur very often but it's a real treat. Yum yum yum!! Work-from-Home Lunch: Meatless Croque Madame |

Tea towel holders - my gran had them in her kitchen. My other gran had something similar but it was a rubber 'push button' with a cross cut into it - you could push the corner of a towel into the holder and it would stay put. Very retro!! What Is This Strange Kitchen Object? Good Questions |

That splashback looks almost exactly like a friend's kitchen - she has black units and then painted the wall green and covered it with clear glass. It's totally not my style but it looks great. Although, if it was me, I would have had brown units and worked a 'chocolate lime sweetie' vibe :-) Color at Home: Great Greens for Your Walls |

Couldn't you just buy some dye and get exactly the colour you want? That's how I recently got a blanket the colour I wanted - bought a white blanket and some wash-in dye. Job doneski! Source for Brightly Colored Sheets? Good Questions |

I'm not married but my housemate and I have fallen into good routine. I get home an hour earlier than her so I normally have a whizz round and neaten things up. I probably do the lions share of the housework but she deals with all the bills and does the more practical stuff - I have no idea how to change a fuse, or even how to right the fuse box when a light blows. She doesn't even mind cleaning the filter on the dishwasher - my least fave job! It's probably not evenly shared but we play to our strengths and it works for us. That's not brick, that's hideous pebbledash!! Definitely looks like a Brit house. I rent so I wouldn't bother doing anything with the front of our (very boring looking) white rendered mid-terrace house with black front door. I covet the house just round the corner - exactly the same as our house but painted yellow with a pink door and lots of lovely colourful flowers in the front garden. It just looks like such a happy place. Before and After: Changing Up Your Home's Exterior Torie Jayne |

Who makes Snow Drift in the UK? My scheme has lots of greys in it so a greyish-white is my quest. I would choose Chantilly Lace too, because it's a good song! ;) Which White Paint Do You Like? |

Ooooh, this is up there with my favourites - I'm a huge fan of yellow and love the way there are pops of it all the way through the house. Very comfortable yet also energising. Really lovely! Congrats!! Emily and Meeko's Sunny First Apartment House Tour |
