It might be worthwhile to block out the sofa footprint on your floor before you purchase such a big one. 85" seems reasonable in a giant store, but once you get it into an 800 sqft place it will probably seem gigantic.

I love the new cabinets, I normally think wood cabinets tend to look dated, but these are beautiful. They are sleek and the grain looks really nice. I expected painted cabinets and white subway tiles, but like what I saw so much better. I love it when Apartment Therapy shows something that does not look like it came from a Pinterest board.

I like the idea of going vertical, but struggle with wanting everything to be at an accessible height. The books on the ledge are cute, but they are never going to be "read" by the child. I would love to see some Montessori inspired small spaces.

One of the best house warming gifts I received when we moved into our house was a session with a color consultant. I would do it in an instant again if I moved. You don't want to spend the money to paint the outside of your house and hate it. Also, our color consultant had a discount with the local paint store, which essentially paid for the consultation.

Another bonus is that they have a huge selection of color swatches, so many more than are available at the store.

You might also try your local Benjamin Moore or other branded paint store. Our color consultant gives 10 minute consults there for free on the weekends.

Super adorable. I think it works because it is not pink for the sake of being pink. It is pink because it is a great color palette.

I use Charlie's soap for other stuff, and sometimes I can tell where it has gone because it is an effective degreaser. How do you use it in the laundry? Whites only?

I had a large German Shepherd in an apartment for a long time. He went out on several long walks every day, but I know, at times, he was bored. He sometimes spent time at his "country house" which provided a large yard, but no walks, and he also got bored there and was excited to come back to the city. So it is not like there is one perfect solution.

I loved my dog dearly, and would not have traded him for any other dog. We had to put him down last year and I still miss him every day. That said, when people would bring their small to medium sized dogs to my apartment I would always think how they fit so much better.

Family members. People like to update and they like to hand things down. Don't be afraid to ask, especially if it someone is looking to downsize the amount of stuff they have.

We skipped the high chair and got stokke. For the first few months we used the front addition and pushed our baby up to table with a mat.

We live in a super small house, so we bought the Uppa Baby umbrella stroller which is perfect for city life, light and compact.

Also, a must is coli calm or some other type of grip water.

The one thing when I was thinking about what to get that I wish I had been told is how quickly babies cycle in and out of stuff. If you don't have one thing it is not a big deal. Also, Craigslist is your friend, it is way easier to move on if you didn't shell out a ton for something and are able to resell it.

I found one several years ago that was down to one leaf one each of it 3 trunks. It now look healthy and full, but the trunks are very narrow and still need the support of another stick. Any ideas on how to get the trunk to thicken?

I keep a bag and put all documents that need shredding into it. When it is full my husband either takes it to work, or there is a place in town where you can pay to have it shredded.
