Country/small town. I need my space! That said, we just bought a house in the suburbs just outside a big city. Ah well, someday I'll get my trees back.

One year my sister asked for an identical twin sister. And we didn't even believe in Santa growing up. Apparently she didn't understand where sisters come from :-)

We had this set of four little nutcracker ornaments, and Dad used to hide them around the house while we were sleeping, and we'd run around and try to find them all when we woke up. I always loved doing that... too bad they're all broken now!

siri is good when you're in the car and looking for directions (for instance) and can't manually input anything.

Man, I HATED being the oldest in my class. I was always smart, but that had more to do with the effort my parents put into helping me rather than my age. Since I was the oldest in my class, many of my friends were a year (or more) ahead of me, and so every time there was a transition in life, my friends moved on before me.

No, I think you can be a country mouse even if you live near a city. I grew up on a cattle farm in a farm house and played in the woods all summer. We also went to school in a nearby small-to-mid-sized city. I still felt very much like I lived in the country. I understand that nothing can compare to the ranches out west, but that's really just the difference between living in New York or Columbus: both are cities, just different types. I am a country mouse at heart, and hopefully someday I can go back.

It would be a blast for kids, but I think it would just be better to have a space that they can grow into, too. A pool is better for all ages!

Personally, I wouldn't replace favorite games with digital ones. However, as with books, I like to have some hard copies and some digital ones. It could be nice to have a favorite game available in multiple formats for different experiences, just as its nice to read a real book sometimes, but I don't want to have to pack more than a kindle for a vacation.

I understand this for committed dating and engaged couples (in fact, it's not a new idea. Living together is a new idea). But not if you're married. Isn't the point to live together? If one of you is a very light sleeper or something I could understand twin beds, but if you are so selfish that you can't share your home, you shouldn't be married. If you need more space, build a "man cave" or the feminine equivalent.

I slept in a bunk bed from the time my sister was born till I went off to college, where, of course, I slept in more bunk beds. I slept on the top bunk at home and at school, and I don't think I ever fell out while sleeping (when I was little I climbed up the end so I could reach the ceiling fan pull, bonked myself on the head with the fan and fell. So I wouldn't recommend fans in bunk bed rooms). I shared a room with both of my sisters all of my life, and it made the college transition extremely easy. All of a sudden I only had one roomie! We had two bunk beds in our room in HS, one with two beds, and one with a top bunk over a futon. It worked wonderfully for us, and I'm sure I'll use bunk beds for my own kiddos someday.

Um, who throws out vases? My mother had several of different sizes in her cupboard, partly because we lived on a farm, and most of the flowers on our table were picked in the field (meaning they didn't come with another vase). Personally, I keep vases that come with flowers because a) not all flowers come with vases and b) my husband's broken a few, and I'd hate to have nowhere to put my blooms. If you do find yourself with too many, donate them to Goodwill. Don't toss them!

I love mirrors. In a small, dark apartment, a mirror gives the illusion of space, and adds light. Plus, my grandma has a mirror in her kitchen. It seems to work for her!

I love the idea of a 2-sided dollhouse... I had two sisters and there was no way we would all fit in front of our one (still large) dollhouse. We ended up building make-shift houses in all corners of our bedroom.

We've always had shoes off at our house, but it was never a "policy" except in the winter. Which, in Michigan I suppose is most of the time. But in the winter not only do people wear big clunky boots, they tend to track wet snow and slush and mud in that the stockinged-feet people always manage to step in. Not plesant. So, I don't think I would ask anyone to remove their shoes unless I could see that they were wet (or would damage my floors...), and then I have slippers or socks if they need them.

As a traditional book reader, I get most of my books from the library. So, while I read quite a bit, I would be in the "0" category.

Sorry!

Whole baby dolls wouldn't creep me out... what gets me is people who collect part of baby dolls... seriously, rows of hands or bowls of heads look like serial killer trophies more than anything.
I actually did a blog post on exactly this topic not long ago: http://rachelplayinghouse.blogspot.com/2011/04/design-trends-i-hate.html
