I lived in East Java, Indonesia for a year while on a Fulbright teaching fellowship and had "raw" milk delivered every other day. I just boiled it before using. Was the best tasting milk I've ever had and never caused any health problems.

I have been cleaning old metal furniture and appliances recently and so have been experimenting a lot. I've used aluminum foil dipped in white vinegar on chrome (on some old, rusty diner chairs) and it worked AMAZINGLY well. The theory behind aluminum foil was I think that it was relatively non-abrasive, but I don't see why some sort of brush wouldn't work too.

Have also used baking soda and water (with just your fingers or a toothbrush) to clean up rust on stainless steel - takes it right out and doesn't scratch - just be sure to go with the grain.
