Oh, man. My first was a doozy! My first time hosting a thanksgiving was about three years ago, now. My [now] husband's family and my family were meeting for the very first time. Not only was I so nervous about that, but I had hardly ever cooked before, and had NEVER cooked a meal THAT big. I was a wreck, but it all turned out perfectly. My [now] husband shed a single tear when he first tasted my cooking that day. I think it really sealed the deal *wink*. I made a pork loin with cranberry apricot chutney, green beans with pine nuts, traditional mashed potatoes, and my grandmother's bread pudding recipe for desert. They still refer to me as “the chef” of the family, so I guess I can say it was a success!

ok, i just moved my whole apartment around and got rid of half my furniture due to my knew love for hula hooping. now i'm just looking for a good (cheap) standing lamp that will give off as much light as my [broken...from hula hooping] ikea ceiling light. I would love to see more on the subject of your home as a multi-functional space (i.e. hula hooping space+studio space+living space+entertaining space)! It's awesome to see you acknowledging the hula hooping trend as something to be accommodated for in your home!

Our bedroom is mostly off-limits. It wasn't that way until one of my closest, nosiest friends came in to our newly-wed bedroom and started digging through my drawers! She pulled out different lingerie talking about which ones came from the shower, and her favorite, and then went for my night stand. I was appalled, and totally mortified. From now on we keep the bedroom door closed when guests come over.

I brought a sandwitch that has leftover shreaded brussels sprout salad and honey roasted turkey on it. The salad is a recipe from gluten free girl and it has walnuts, parm. and cranberries in it, with a honey dijon dressing. SO good!

Plus two apples- one for when I get munchy around ten.

Wall-to-Wall Carpet in the Bathroom: Ewww or Ahhh?

boys are gross, and they all need to work on their aim. This, plus years of moisture, kids throwing up, and even worse...poo particles...I SAID IT...totally sceeves me.

I cant imagine all of that being trapped in the carpet. I say get a nice, fluffy bath mat, and get a spaceheater to warm the tile floors in the winter.

I guess by todays standards I would be called a "radical homemaker", but I'm not trying to be anything other than someone who is capable of putting food on her table between paychecks. If that means I have to make our own cereal each week, barter for our furniture, and scratch and pull hairs to get to the blow out sale at Ross- then so be it.

I'm earning a BFA, I'm newly married, I work full time, and damn-it I knead my own bread. Thats okay by me.
