so pretentious. lil guy was intimidated by gallery assistants, then found his power & shelled out 456,000$ for a canvas. awww - what an uplifting tale of struggle & personal redemption. i actually feel sorry for those who live in that world

this is super pretty - love all the ideas, especially love all the art that ties it all together. but - i think it's way too much stuff in this space. i relate to having the perfect piece that ties many elements together, but this seems like too much. for me, anywho :)

source for the hand shaped bathroom soap holder? this is really beautiful. a few green plants would be a nice addition, too

i hate lucite but it works incredibly well here. love the painted radiator & the restraint (i.e. editing) your sense of color is awesome - saturated red, purple & green are perfectly complementary in intensity. i'd like to see the art lower & closer together to be more cohesive. nice!

i actually really like the nudes in the dining nook, but dislike prints with the artist's name as a border/faux -matte - a bit ostentatious. (btw -"died of aids" isn't a badge of honor, it's a virus that affects over 1 million americans right this moment). i think a nice light colored slip cover on the sofa & chair would refresh the space immeasurably. nice work jade :)

very nice - blue & yellow is a trendy color scheme, but i like that your blue is not tourquoisey but more a sky blue/muted. i'd love to see the sofa centered between the windows & the large art piece above it. to make space you could move the butcher block island to the long wall by the door & put the smaller art/shelves above that (but a few smidges lower & closer together would be great). if you don't like your sofa so close to the kitchen, try a light divider like wicker or cut out wood painted white? really well done, all in all :)

my Asko washer/dryer is also a POS & takes hours to even come close drying. you also never get a really fresh/clean scent as with a separate dryer, and there's no lint/pet hair removal function like a conventional dryer.

Calgary, AB (oil & gas corporate central) - in 2007, my 2 bedroom 700 sq.ft basement suite went from $575 to $1200 over less than 6 months. those who weren't pushed out by successive rent increases were finally kicked out for condo conversion. recession hit, & the building still sits half torn apart and empty.

i got in on a 3.5% mortgage last year, so recession isn't all bad :)

blandwagon, hiya
i think the space reflects the fact that it's only been with its inhabitants for less than a year - in that there are some details that they'll figure out down the road (maturity) & enjoy doing so (refining the process). example include sightlines, cohesive colour schemes, and a culling of multiple art pieces.

didn't mean to sound harsh - but yes i fuckin love "swearing" haha. and i do, indeed, hope it expresses my earthy directness :)

pretty pretty. predictable.
but pretty.

the brick walls are fuckin great. art looks awesome too. well mixed vintage & ikea, but it's still coming off a bit late american garage sale with ikea features.

the whole space wants for refinement & maturity - but it's on the way...you cats are gonna have fun figuring it out :) thanks for sharing

looks like there's a nice ray of sun coming through the window. i would put a long console table behind the sofa and place some low, but fuller plants along the railing.

alternately, you could move the couch to the opposite wall, and put an open shelving unit along the railing - again plants would probably do well in this spot & look nice and lush!
