Anyone with an interest in meat should check out The River Cottage Meat book. It's beautiful (such nice charts), useful, and interesting. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a genius. Really. I would make standard, old-fashioned gingerbread cookies with white icing. There's nothing like a little nostalgia during the holidays! I would, however, spice the cookies up a bit. I always add a little bit of cracked black pepper, and a lot of other spices to my cookies--it helps stave off this terrible cold weather!
