Some favorites of my seven year old girl include The Pirates of Penzance, My Neighbor Totoro, and Monsters, Inc. We're all about the popcorn and pulling out the sleeper sofa to get comfy for movie night! The Red BalloonMovie Night | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I use an IKEA cd cabinet (i.e. maybe twelve big sized cubbies) in my daughter's room for dress up shoes, pajamas, her camera, rainboots, etc. It's a good catch-all for funny items in a small room. Wine Racks for Clothing Storage? | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I have a ton of these cute finger puppets in a wooden spice rack hanging on the wall in my daughter's room-- it looks like a bunch of diamonds and I think it came from the Container Store. Instead of storing little spice jars, now it's like a dollhouse for the puppets-- good fun for her to tuck each one into its own "room" when done playing with them. And it looks super cute. Also, the American Girl dolls line does have a baby doll-- called Bitty Baby or some odd name-- it's about $30-40 and very well made. Plastic head and limbs (i.e. washable after being drawn on with markers...) soft huggable body. I bought one for my daughter when she was born and 'though she's now 6 and the baby doll's still in good shape and still played with. Good luck! Man, I subscribed to Blueprint and Home Companion and Domino and am sorry about all of them. But THIS one I really think sucks. Wondertime was very unusual. And I second the Catherine Newman comment. This is depressing, big time. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Farewell, Wondertime |

I had a roommate who left nasty notes on the thermostat saying that it couldn't be lowered past a certain (too high) point because her plant would die. It didn't matter that the other two of us were baking and having to help pay the bill. Oh, how I don't miss those days... We've stopped buying diaper genie refills and just use the newspaper bags to put our 1 year old's poop diapers in on the way to the trash can outside the house. Makes me feel better to reuse them and cuts off the smell pretty effectively. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Five Ways to Reuse Newspaper Delivery Plastic Bags |

I'd also suggest using your kid's artwork-- if you have an avid easel artist who brings home lots of abstracts from Nursery school-- use them to wrap presents. I was kind of wondering if these would get posted about. I bought mine pre-sale for $25 in the silver for my 1 year old son's very small bedroom. It's super cute, comfortable, and should clean with a baby wipe if need be. It's a great place to sit with my back against the wall and him in my lap or next to me for books. Hey, this is really neat! I teach 3 and 4 year olds and I'm going to try this with them in the fall-- with their name and favorite things as the words-- sure to be a hit. Thanks. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Wordle: The Typographic Graphic Creator |

As a teacher of 3 and 4 year olds as well as a mom to two kids, I looove this kind of post. So much inspiration to be gained here and from the home site you link to. Thanks for adding a little magic to my day. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Look! Taka-Tuka-Land Kindergarten in Berlin |

For some reason, I watched Clash of the Titans over and over as a child since it was on HBO constantly. Bad, yes, but hypnotic! Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Holiday Gift Bag #6: Win an Ant Farm |
