the cabinetry looks so much better, especially against the grey tile back splash.

can't the simple solution just be not allowing your dogs in bed with you? i have a nice and pretty $75 duvet from Urban Outfitters that is still ... nice and pretty. because the dogs sleep on the floor.

i always err on the side of bluer-greyer whites, because my worst fear is having an offwhite-to-yellow making the place look dirty.

we took down a few of our boob lights and replaced them with new fixtures. the lights are still hiding in the back of a closet, so we can put them back before we leave.

the legs on that coffee table are stunning!

they're all so beautiful! we were trying to think of ways to install wall-to-wall shelves in our rental without destroying our deposit, but haven't found a solution yet. more inspiration to keep trying!

i used rubbing alcohol to get paint off of some surfaces INSIDE my house... maybe that will work outside?

my bed doesn't have a plug next to it! so my iPhone (and alarm) lives across the room on my desk. i get up, snooze it, and return to bed for some half-awake snuggle. then get up when the snooze alarm goes off.

the first thing that bothers me when watching HGTV is that people don't consider homes in their budget when they see an ugly kitchen. as long as it's clean and functional, keep a budget-friendly home with a bad kitchen in your list. you can live with ugly for a little while, and won't end up over-spending just because you're too impatient for granite.

i can assure you. this shade of pink is NOT ok outside of the beverly hills hotel. my landlord painted our entire house this shade, and i just call it "dusty salmon". ick.
