I love this room (and the rest of your house)! Usually I'm a bit disappointed when I see a painted brick wall but oh my, you're telephone poles are amazing. I love that you painted them at an angle. Moreover, painting on a textured surface is difficult and you executed it so well.

I couldn't wrap me head around how this space could only be 400 sq ft for the longest time. It's so well thought out. My LA apt is 425 sq ft and looks way smaller than this. Then I realized, I have 3 closets, a 70" long bookcase, a desk and a dining/bar table that sits 4 (which I didn't exactly see in this space). Plus, I don't have an outdoor space. I like the way this place is designed more than my own. Very inspiring. Thanks for posting this.

I don't watch "tv" unless its a movie, for the most part. This might be why I don't understand why a bed would face a little lcd opposed to the magnificent view. I'd much rather face towards the city lights at night... Perhaps its just the way the room could be situated with the large bed?
I also wondered how low the Eames chairs would have someone sit at a standard dining room table height since they have a "bucket-seat" feel to them. Doesn't matter too much considering how great they look together!
I love her/your vertical garden, btw! Very cool. Oh and her/your samples-wall/workstation, I want call it. With all the Ikea curtain clips for fabric and magnetic knife holder for scissors. Super creative!!! The pop of color against the white wall is so fun.

...but then it occurred to me that I have textured walls and I thought it may look to much like an actual orange. Yours (by far) is now my favorite. Really great job! Thanks for sharing.

I agree that this post is more for AD than AT... I just moved away from Sherman Oaks last year and I'm very happy to see he went a different direction (design wise) than most of the residents. More over, I enjoyed the clean lines of the kitchen and the glass subway tile (looked like Waterworks) in one of the bathrooms. Perhaps he is getting ready to sell or perhaps he's got a lifetime to fill his place with things. Most men have a hard time with Interior Design...unless its the garage. ;) This place is certainly in progress, though.
Can I add that some of his neighbors have 1,000 sq ft homes and some have 10,000+ sq ft. Trust me on this one...I mean the Mulholland Estates used to be considered Sherman Oaks (the developers changed it).

We all know "knockoff" has an unspoken pejorative connotation and remains to be a faux pas. I want to criticize monopolizing an idea but in the end, this perhaps can be construed as rhetoric on financial gain/copyright laws. I do believe this copies are thievery. I also believe in healthy competition. I'm on the fence about this because I've stolen ideas for my place and had them custom made by local artisans...iron, wood, glass, etc. (Textiles, no. Apparently thats my contribution to the international market. lol) The first item I bought for my place was a knockoff - a Luxo L-1 Task Lamp...I still have it. A part of me wants to be willfully ignorant.
