Free goes with everything! Looks like the seats are really easy to reupholster with just about anything. you could paint all chairs one color, or a mix of colors, depending on your vibe. Looks like a great craigslist find; I'm jealous - I've been looking for something similar and am willing to pay more than $0 for it! Enjoy your good fortune. Oh -- just make sure the height of the chairs works with the height of the table.

Beautiful home. Interesting to see the place where Schooly D hangs his hat(s) -- thanks for inviting us in. A peek into the studio space would have been wonderful. The silver bas relief is stunning -- who is the artist? Also love the wood console with the metallic legs in the dining room -- can anyone shed light on source?

@toastsixoh -- oops -- didn't mean to suggest that I'm assuming anything about political or social stances of members of the community. Certainly didn't call or suggest that anyone here is racist. The cookie jar may be, but that doesn't mean Michael or anybody else who owns one is. Know for a fact that one can have political/social stances at any point on the map and not 'get' what's offensive about it. Sharing MY emotional reaction to the image and the posts. Done now, never expected to get even remotely 'political' on AT, don't anticipate I will in the future. Still appreciate the fact that we CAN go there on AT and have intelligent, respectful exchange on hotbutton issues if/when they come up. Rare to find on the net. Thanks!

Wow. Initially I was really excited because I have those same cabinets in kitchen as well as all three bathrooms, and once again AT gives me hope for a brighter future! Then I saw the mammy jar, and my stomach clutched. Then I read the comments indicating that members of this really cool and progressive online community that I've come to appreciate so much don't 'get' what's offensive about the mammy jar. Now brighter futures seem a bit more out of reach and I'm truly saddened. Wow.

It's hard to imagine AT without patrick (the other one) --it seems to me that he's already an essential part of your team. Actually, his comments were the thing that initially kept me coming back to AT when I first discovered it. The appreciation for House Tours and other features came later. Hopefully this is a much a no-brainer for you as it is for us.
And oh yeah... nice crib.

If your lanterns will be anywhere near a window, try solar. There are cordless, solar-charged paper lanterns available thru Amazon. I believe you could hang these with monofilament for a look similar to your inspiration photo.
