I like it but I think it looks like eyes. My over imagination would have lots of fun with that in my house.

Can you go over how to substitute different types of flours in recipes? I know the difference between cake and all-purpose but what about whole-wheat or gluten-free for other people. Is there even a good go-to method for that type of substitution or should I be looking for new recipes?

My mom buys a gallon of honey at a time and she returns the old jars to the honey producer. He used to get all of his gallon jars from bars-apparently pickled eggs come in gallon jars-but recently he's had trouble so now he just offers a discount to people who exchange their own jars.

I personally use a lot of jars for Christmas presents so I save them all year and then have a big clean out in December.

O wow. I would love to put a bunk bed with a swing and a slide in my, ( I mean my kids') room.

aw. I used to work at a Pick'N'Save. Not that I was too wonderful at customer service given that I was just a punk high school kid.

We call these "Yogurt Sundaes" at our house. Definitely make an appearance at any time of the day, several times a week. They're great with fresh/frozen berries or apple slice too.

I have a cheapo wood cutting board I used as a trivet for years and it still works just fine. For quite awhile it was my only "trivet" so it came into contact with quite a lot of hot pans.

Thank you PhilMills for being the sole camper among the group thus far. These things are ubiquitous at camping stores and campgrounds. Although that original ad art is a treat to look at.

We use ours for a variety of meals but the pizza pie, with pizza sauce, mozz, and pepperoni is definitely a favorite. Other favorites include egg with ham and cheese, fruit pie filling, and peanut butter and banana.

I've got some New England relatives that call it seltzer. They're all of the older generation. Has anyone else heard that?

Pasties are big in the UP. This takes me back to long ski vacations at the Porcupine Mtns. They look delicious. I should introduce these to my household.

When my cooking gets smoky I take the detectors off the wall and put them on my bed. I find that is the best way to remember to put them back up.

I have been wanting to go paper towel free for a while now but I keep getting hung up on drying meat. In fact the only thing we use them for now is drying chicken and other meats. What do you use to dry meats? If washable cloths, are you afraid of cross contamination?

I love this idea. We used to do a chili souper bowl cook off on Super bowl Sunday but it died out somehow. I like the idea of having the soup be the main attraction and leaving football for its own special day.

That cat looks exactly like my Buster-kitty. Freakishly so, right down to the pose on the chair.

As for little, my cats are rescued strays who prefer to be let outside. I don't know where they go. Our old cat used to come inside to use the litter box then go back outside to play. He was basically a child.

I have a lefse board and pastry cloth. My grandma has used hers for years so I bought the same one from Bethany Housewares. This one:

I use it for pies, pizzas, and biscuits as well as roll cookies and lefse. My mom just uses an old pastry cloth on the counter. It doesn't slide around too much but I like mine better.

What do you do about sizing? My friends (those I'm sure who would want to participate) and I aren't exactly all the same size/shape/height. I feel like there would be more then a few women who would have nothing there to take home except maybe a few accessories and their own items.
