I highly reccomend a disc imaging program like Acronis. The last thing I do every night is make a complete image of my entire hard drive and store it on my external usb drive. These images can be browsed and individual files restored if needed. I have not had a disc failure since I started using this software but just last weekend upgraded to a bigger drive. It was the easiest hard drive swap I have ever done! No OS reinstall, no reinstalling apps etc. Just restore your hard drive image to the new drive and fire it up. I have one of these. I bought it just for travelling but it quickly became my "main mouse". Battery life is at least 6 months on alkalines. The battery low warning comes long before you need to worry about the mouse not working. I'm all for rechargeable batteries but this is one case where I am happy to use alkalines. The mouse just seems to be the perfect size and weight. I don't think I have ever been disapointed in a Logitech product (as I look around my office I'm surprised by how many Logitech products I actually have!).
