So pretty! Can I ask what type of curtain rod system you are using? It looks like it's attached to the concrete ceiling. Melanie's Little Loft Bedroom My Bedroom Retreat Contest |

@omnombiscuits - when you come to DC, make sure you check the location map. The advertised apartment on here is in SE, far away from the attractions, and I honestly wouldn't go there unless I know what I'm doing. 10 Getaways Under $75 a Night |

keep it as a guest room/office. You can get a daybed like the ikea hemnes which pulls out to a king size bed. It would be nice to change the door to the wall that faces the windows, but not totally necessary. Just replace the current door with french doors and save some money for hardwood floors :-) What To Do With Awkward Den Space? Good Question |

Knowing the prices in NYC, I think I would upgrade only if the other aspects of my life would not be affected financially. I'm guessing that for a 1 bedroom it'll probably be ~$2400 a month, and if you can spare that extra grand and don't have to skimp on shopping or going out or saving, then why not? However, if you have to make lifestyle sacrifices then I wouldn't do it. Worth Upgrading From Studio To One Bedroom? Good Questions |

I have a living room/dining room combo similar in layout to jendavid1000, with one wall of windows. My condo faces east so it doesn't get much light during the times I'm home after work. I tried 6 shades of gray, all of which look different on the wall compared to the pictures I found online. RH Ash (too beige) and pale silver (too blue), Behr Dolphin Fin (really liked it but thought it was too dark) and Mahattan Mist (too lavender), BM cement gray (too lavender) and gray owl (winner!). Gray is one of those frustrating colors that one shade could work on one person's walls while looking awful on another, so you really just need to try them out on your own wall.
