Thank you everyone for all of the nice comments! Answers to questions are below....

@thorndale: i have no idea what the counters of made of. the managers of the property do everything on the cheap, so they basically took the same concrete stain on the floors and painted it on the countertops.

@skateleby: the bed is a danish teak floating bed. i'm not sure of the actual designer, but if you are interested in finding one - i'd suggest by starting with a search on craigslist for one. they seem to come up fairly regularly. the ones i've seen of late have been priced around $750-$1,0000

@lovelyfrugalhermit: funny! it wasn't until we started taking these photos that i realized we did have an abundance of animal art. i love when artists are able to portray animals in a modern way.

@harley: the floors are just raw concrete with a colored stain painted over them.

@susrith: i am unsure of the manufacturers of the chairs. i don't know if they are actually danish (they aren't stamped), but they are a nice replica of danish chairs if they happen to be american made. someone suggested they are lane. i can't confirm that, but i have seen other lane pieces with tapered legs, etc so they could be correct.

@rosenatti: glad you like the douglas miller work. he is very talented! i highly recommend getting one of his pieces, i absolutely love mine and would have more if i had the space.

@amee: the pictures are a little blown out, but the background is an eggplant color. there is some bright purple in the clouds, but the actual background is a sort of brown/purple hybrid. we still wonder if the upholsterer didn't make a bad cut on the fabric, but we ended up having to use 14 yards for the 2 chairs!!! yikes. we initially bought 9 yards and got a call a week later that they needed 5 more. it is a crazy pattern, so i expected to use a lot, but 14 seemed like a lot to me.

@coarsetalk: i couldn't agree with you more. i actually was very hesitant to even include a photo of the kitchen. i would love to rip them out all together but we obviously only want to make major changes to things that we can take with us. painting or staining isn't an option, but i'd be open to trying to find some new handles that might add some life. thanks for the suggestion!
