We have the same rough, scratchy floor on our deck and we ended up buy two rolls of higher end fake grass from Costco. It has been awesome! Our daughter had no trouble crawling around on it and now that she's walking she feels like she's in her own little yard!

Interesting concept but I would hate to have that much stainless to clean water spots off of! With all the calcium and lime in our water here (in southern California), I find it difficult to keep just my stainless sink looking pretty.

I live in Old Towne Orange too and our first apartment was above Citizen's Business bank in the circle! I love your windows & the great moldings... makes me miss our first place! Fun colors, btw.

I love the Camp! Native Foods (in the yurt) is one of the better vegan restaurants I've been to and the Old Vine Cafe does have an AMAZING breakfast! The atmosphere is wonderful... thoughtfully planned out yet "campy!" I agree that the landscaping is gorgeous - it's certainly an inspiring space!

The same set is regularly available on overstock.com. I got it from them last year and even though their price is higher than walmart, I got the difference back in an overstock credit because they have a price guarantee! The sectional isn't in stock at the moment but comes and goes frequently. Here are the arm chairs from the same Aventura collection.

I wish they still had the plain frosted glass doors for the billy bookcase. We had them in our old house which we sold furnished... I didn't think to check to see if they'd still be available!

@venus_thames: did you buy "non-labeled bottles in all white" somewhere in particular? I've looked and haven't found many great options (maybe I'm looking in the wrong places!)

Yes! The pillow is from Urban Outfitters a few months ago but they are unfortunately no longer available. I snagged 2 for my couch!

Three weeks after we put in beautiful Brazilian walnut flooring I hosted a bridal shower for one of my best friends. It was our first party in our new space and I was so excited! The evening was perfect but at the end of the night, I turned all the lights on (it had been a candlelit evening for the most part) I was greeted with hundreds of divots all over our brand new floor from the guests' high-heeled shoes. And there was an 8" square section that was so torn up the unstained wood underneath was showing through in the deep scratches. I nearly died... and my husband was livid.

Needless to say, we learned our lesson. We have a shoes off policy for the most part and absolutely no hard soled shoes (men's dress shoes, women's heels, etc). I have wondered about an appropriate way to let people know ahead of time that we have a no shoes policy without sounding too rude. Any thoughts? I just feel that would be awkward on an invitation.

We donated ours to Habitat for Humanity, too. If you can convince the builder not to put it in and just leave the carpet and padding in a roll, it's even better... for everyone!

I love Habitat too and always make a point to stop in whilst in London! I had always gone to the Tottenham Court Road shop but the last time I was there I discovered the one on Regent Street & fell in love with the cafe upstairs... a lovely spot for some tea and design inspiration at the same time!

Another ditto on all the wonderful things said about USAA. In addition to everything already stated, I love that they don't charge atm fees and they also reimburse those $2-$3 charges that most atm owners charge you to get money out.

If you have the ability to join USAA, do it. They are the best!
