I chose dill pickle, not because it's the first one, but because it is the freshest, most alive of the colors without being overwhelming. All those near whites aren't different enough from the original in my mind to warrant the bother of painting.

That crazy chandelier above the dining table looks like a huge shower head the way those crystals seem to be flowing out of it.

@Wildlysimple, I totally agree with you that often the best remodeling we can do is simple. The more total gut jobs we can avoid, the better off we all are. I love your kitchen. It wouldn't be anything I would ever desing from scratch, but you did a great job making a pitiful little kitchen much more pleasant and usable.

This home is so beautiful it breaks my heart. Or maybe more correctly, it breaks my heart open. The aesthetic, physical, and spiritual maturity revealed in this little house is palpable on both macro and micro scales. I'm humbled.

There's nothing real about this room. It's only two walls worth of space. Everything is too coordinated, and there are no windows or signs of life. I hate to be negative, but it just feels so phony and tricky.

Incredible little space! The use of stock cabinets in the kitchen is innovatively space conserving and stylish. And the walled patio outside of the bedroom is counterintuitively space expanding.

@bucoybrown: I'm looking forward to entering Small Cool 2012. It's been great living in such a tiny space, but to be honest, it's only part time, what with the outhouse and lack of hot water. My "primary residence" is a 286 square foot city apartment which is plenty big, especially with 12 foot high ceilings. The limitations of small spaces are incredibly inspiring. Good luck with your 240!

There is a bathroom....sort of. In the yard I built a beautiful bright yellow and white 6x12 building. 2/3 is shed, and 1/3 is a composting toilet outhouse. I would have included pictures of that but the rules are only one room.
