I like the fourth photo. Light and airy, with a touch of glam.

I think the first one. And I prefer couches with wooden legs over metal legs.

Like the mood of the first, third and fourth picture. But can't quite figure out how the last picture comes in with the theme. The last picture looks more calm and peaceful than stormy to me.

I like most of the apartments featured here, especially the first and the second on the first row.
but the second apartment in the second row, its really too small a space (at least to me) to feel comfortable.

unfortunately, looking good and feeling good at the same time is almost impossible. but i will choose the task chair too. the HM chair is still the most comfy though it really looks unattractive.

A number of lessons I learnt from my first "apartment" which is a rented room with a landlord and other tenants that stay within the house:
1. I viewed the room at night. when I actually moved in, I disliked that it was so dark in the day time that I have to on the lights most of the time. totally agree to view the place both in day and night.
2. I didn't try opening and closing the windows and door to see how sound proof the room is. The first few months I lived without an aircon and left the windows open, the traffic outside kept me awake for months.
When I pay the landlord for aircon and shut the windows to sleep, the noise within the house becomes obvious instead. The TV from outside the room or other tenants moving in and out of the house is actually rather disturbing. (I have problem sleeping in the first place.) Testing how sound proof the place is is important if you get affected by noise easily.

I like having the chanderlier in the bedroom rather than the usual living room.

I've got an ikea table, unfinished surface that I've been thinking of painting. Does the statement paint first then assemble applies to tables too? My concern is how to manage the legs without it sticking to the surfacel Try to prop it against something, then wait for it to dry before painting the propped up portion? Or is painting after assembling easier for tables? I've got it assembled anyway. Sorry if I sound silly, I'm very inexperienced with such stuffs.

thanks skatkat! never did thought of that. but probably will need some skill since I've not done any wood work before. but its a good idea since this problem always happen to one of the drawers while the rest are still in good condition (at least in my case).

i have a few drawers that got stuck because the board sunk down. I didn't even put in too much or too heavy things. Any one have similar experience? Guess there's probably nothing that can be done except to throw away the drawer?

so lovely! this motivates me to try painting my old furnitures. i started off with sanding a piece of old coffee table, also 20over years old, but after trying on a small section for quite some time, the wood still looks smooth and very little seem to have been sanded off.
