I used to be a rule follower, but I have come to enjoy experimenting while cooking. I will usually follow a recipe the first time, but then I'll do my own thing. I do follow baking rules. Do You Follow the Rules When You Cook? |

My 3 year old loves anything featuring things that move as well as the movie Cars. Right now, he likes Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site, two Cars Look and Finds, and we still like Little Blue Truck. We always like Goodnight Moon - that's been our final story for 3 years now. Right there with you. My 3 yr old sometimes just gets kid food. But most of the time, he's given what we're eating. He goes through picky stages. But, this is a kid who loves Kimchi pancakes and all the fun little sides at the Korean restaurant and also enjoys Indian food. He gets his veggies and loves fruit. So, if he eats some "kid" food, I don't worry. Sanity is important. In Defense of \"Kid Food\" |

I've done a photo book each year for us and the grandparents. It's a big hit and great gift. I usually use Shutterfly, although I might try MPix or Blurb next time. I also did a calendar this year of the best of 3 years, which was a huge hit. Capturing Your Baby's First Year...in Print |

When I was around 6 or 7 I asked Santa for a Dragon. I did not want a stuffed toy - I wanted an actual dragon who could be my friend. I had seen Pete's Dragon (this would have been mid-70s) and thought the dragon was the bees knees. Santa brought me a small stuffed pink dragon. I was crushed, but he did try. I got the Chatter Phone for my son when he was 1 (he's now 3). He loved it and understood that it was a phone. He would talk on the phone. He also used blocks, toy cell phones, and remotes as phones. The Chatter Phone can also be pulled along as a pull toy. And the rotary dial makes a ringing sound. Kid's will surprise you. I like Paula Deen's bacon bread sticks. Super easy, transport well, and are good at room temperature. Get sesame bread sticks - I usually end up with small ones - wrap each with bacon (I use center cut and usually use half a slice). Bake @ 350 for 30 minutes. When hot, dredge in grated Parmesan cheese. These are a hit with men, BTW. One package of bacon cut in half will cover about 2 packages of bread sticks. You can make as many as needed. Yes, it's delicious. I grew up in the DC area and we went to Catoctin Mountain Orchard in Thurmont, MD several times each fall and always got cider, which was unpasteurized, although for all I know it probably is now. But, boy was it good. The Real Deal: Have You Ever Tried Unpasteurized Cider? |

I watched an episode here a few weeks back (the Willy Wonka one). It was awful. These people are just out for attention and what they're doing to their children is shameful (the Willy Wonka party's tag line was "Get Sugared Up"). Outrageous Kid Parties TLC |
