The crib. I should have just bought a king sized master bed. Both kids co-slept until about 16/18 months and then went straight to toddler beds with no problems.

When we can't go outside because of the seeming CONSTANT rain here, and the kids get squirrelly, I just tell them to run laps in the kitchen/dining/living/hallway loop. I stand in the kitchen and keep a tally on the chalkboard. I doubt I would ever be able to convince them a treadmill is fun.

Last year, when my kids were 2.5 and 11 months, in an attempt to avoid too much junk food and save money, I put mini boxes of cereal in their stockings. It was a huge hit, possibly the overall favorite gift for both. We will be repeating this year. Will be interesting to see the difference.

1. Maneuverability
2. Durability

4. Weight
5. Storage (for shopping bags, purse, cup holder, etc)
6. Other: ability to adjust recline (for sleeping)

I didn't include safety because I assume (naively?) all strollers on the market are safe. Wheels are part of maneuverability.

My daughter is named Eloise, but not for the book. She is named after my grandmother. I am afraid the poor girl will always be under the shadow of that character, because that really is the only association most people have with her name.

This is so inspiring! What a wonderful experience for your family. I am very jealous! I want to know more about how you used the walk for a fire pit. What a great idea.

I believe in using things, too. My son had too many beautiful handmade quilts and blankets to put on his bed at once so I got one of those wooden towel racks from ikea and installed it in his nursery to hang quilts on. It made a nice, informal display.

I love this idea and have wanted to try it for a long time. I would like to know where to buy stylish contact paper large enough to cover the whole drawer. matching up the pattern doesn't sound fun to me. I'm also looking for some to re-do my children's ikea play table.

This has been a terrible year for mosquitoes in the Pacific Northwest because of our record-breaking rainy spring. Everyone is complaining, but last night my husband and I both realized we don't have any bites. AT ALL. And I am usually a magnet for mosquitoes. The only thing we are doing differently lately is eating a lot of brewers yeast. We just love it on popcorn, whatever. I believe it is very high in B vitamins.

This is so great and makes me think I could actually live with one of these plastic houses in my yard. My only question is, does anyone know about the safety of this paint around children?

I am also a teacher and have always worked with very disenfranchised students, so I don't get many gifts. I am always so happily surprised when I do. The best gift is just to know my hard work is appreciated. A sincere note means so much. I really would encourage people who want to give gifts to steer away from knick knacks and empty calorie treats. If you are sure the teacher has a place to plant it, a pretty little annual would be a good end of year gift. I know I look forward to spending my summer vacation tending my garden.
