I can definitely appreciate his work ethic after restoring my own CT farmhouse from 1901. Real estate agents always say run down houses are 'tear downs' but you'd be surprised what doesn't have to be torn all the way to the ground to function. New homes lack charm anyways...

You all are a gorgeous couple with a darling little baby! I love the home- everything is clean and crisp- great taste! I really do hope that when your little one starts climbing that the mirrors and large frames are bolted to the wall. Babies are stronger than you might think. Just a thought from one baby proofer to another. btw, i'm in love with all of the wall colors you chose!

The trend with baby boy and toddler boy's rooms looking so feminine. YOUR SON IS NOT A GIRL....I know you wanted one, but please don't give him a girly room. (i.e., pastel stripes, silks and satins, faux fir rugs, butterflies, pom poms, birds on a tree) I hate to break it to you, but he'll break his toys, throw sand at you, spit in your face, run away, reck your car....etc you get the drift. I love my son more than anyone. And you know what I love more? He's not a girl.

Gorgeous and crisp. I love it with the old 80's door removed. A clear shower curtain might look cool too! Also, maybe a nice pop of colorful art framed above the toilet! Great job!

My son has that bike- he calls it the 'rainbow' bike since it has a few colors. It is his favorite! I like the pink for a girl though.

Wood filler- sold at home depot or any similar store. Then you can stain it or paint over it. I can't live without it in this old house. It dries super fast though, so if you use it, cover up the parts you don't want caked in wood filler with painter's tape.

No joke- who cares about safety on a playground when we have child molesters walking free in this country and stalking children? Please worry about more important things than the code of a playground. A parent motivated enough to turn a playground into a firehouse, is not the kind of person who would leave a young child unattended out there anyway. Please just let boys be boys people.

You know what's so funny? I bought those magnetic spice holders in a Krogers when I went to visit my inlaws in Ohio! The one thing in my house from Ohio. Although I see you got them elsewhere. Maybe they are more popular in Ohio decor. Cute house! Finally it's not one from California!

As a parent, i'm constantly on the look-out for new and creative ways to stimulate imagination and brain development in my young children. There is just nothing about this trend that seems child appropriate to me.

With another crib that's white, but not 'fancy' and very simple, it will blend in without taking away the look from the other. If the bedding was matching it would still work. I'm with the other person- each twin is an individual and it's ok that not everything is matchy matchy

I love that you kept the white as a reminder for something hopeful. Congrats on finally becoming parents- it's a wonderful experience. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world (no pun intended). It looks peaceful and lovely. And as your child grows, you will have his crafts and artwork and projects in there and slowly but surely, there will be more color-whether you choose it or not.

People, inspiration doesn't mean you are looking to copy the idea- so why is it you can't get inspiration from an art gallery just because it's large and maybe even costly. Maybe someone has a single brick wall in their house, and now they have the idea for a wine rack, etc. Some people really are so bitter and jealous! I say this is amazing!

I used the 1 part epoxy paint from home depot on my basement cellar floor, and it worked great. You can opt to add speckles or go without them. I also found that cement paint works well too!
