To add to my comment above - we discovered that our friends iPhone could not charge with this solar panel but my android was. Something to keep in mind if planning on purchasing and you own an iPhone.

My husband and I purchased this item along with their lantern (http://www.goalzero.com/shop/p/112/Lighthouse-Lantern/6:6/) as a bundle at costco for $99 for a camping trip. Both items were great!

The downside with the panel is that you need to have an area with direct sunlight and no shade or the panel wont build a charge properly. At the camp site it took longer to charge. However, I chose to test it with it on the dashboard of my car while driving (dont recommend) and it charge perfectly.
