Still not nearly as lovely as the Patchwork. I prefer the more mid-century shape and the more organic wood grain. Seems like you could achieve this with a craigslist dresser, a few different stains and a little texturing for less than $150. Insta-Hack: From Patchwork Dresser Hack to DIY Project in a Kit |

Something about the lack of soft flooring bothers me. I live in an old apartment in the city with ceramic tile flooring, and if I didn't have a few throw rugs to sit on I would go insane. Kimmy & Nathan's Art Driven Loft House Tour |

And I've live in Texas without a/c before, the exhaust fan idea is a must. At least one fan in the front, one is the back was the best way to circulate. If you need some REAL relief I suggest a fan on the floor, facing your bed with a shallow bucket of ice in front of it. Throwing your jammies in the freezer before bed never hurt either! I haven't lived outside of the south in quite a long time so this may sound ignorant but, at about $150-200 a pop, wouldn't a cheapo window a/c unit be worth the trip to the nearest Home Depot? I would gladly pay a slightly higher electric bill to sleep through the night without breaking a sweat. Tips for Making a Fan More Effective | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
