Whoa when did they let a bunch of trolls on to AT? Yes people have different opinions about how to clean their tech but that doesn't mean you have to get nasty.

If someone wants to disinfect their phone for whatever reason so be it. I personally do use wipes on occasion and found this information useful as I hadn't heard of these products before.
A microfiber cloth doesn't do the trick for me because I have started to develop a contact rash from my phone. That sucker needs to be cleaner.

I like to give spices that can be a little different like saffron, annatto seeds, really nice sea salt or smoked paprika. You can make it as expensive as you like.

My DH left his brand new iPhone at a restaurant that we frequented often and only realized it once we got home. Called the restaurant and talked to the manager who told us that it wasn't there. So my DH called the phone no answer but with the Find my iPhone app we could watch it going down the freeway and stopping at a home miles away. We texted it with their address and that we had contacted the police. Surprisingly we got a call the next day from the same manager telling us that it had been in the office all a long and that we could come and pick it up.

When I want to get fancy with truffle salt I make hamburgers. I like to add the salt as a finish then top it with grilled mushrooms and truffle cheese that I usually find at Trader Joe's SO Good!

I agree with GTTIM about the toilet seat. That is the first thing that is replaced in every apartment that I move into. This makes it feel like a new washroom.

When I graduated High School my mother gave me the best present of a note book full of her handwritten recipes that were a staple in our family. The pages are full of splatters and the cover has seen better times but it is always there for when I'm feeling home sick.

Thank you for posting this! As a professional painter nothing irks me more than when people think that paint supplies are disposable or one time use. A good brush should last you a life time.

My family has a large collection of clay bakers that get used for so many things. The one major use though is for garlic roast chicken. Easy enough, it is 3 heads of garlic, a couple of onions and 2 smaller chickens that have the garlic cloves shoved literally everywhere and then slow roasted. The garlic is creamy and the chicken is super moist. I only use my clay baker for roasts of all kinds and even my turkeys.

I have gifted and now received a gift from Foodzie. I have really enjoyed the surprise every month. It has been a real treat. Also as an expat purchasing goodies from home online is a great way to feel not so far away.

Aloe either from my much abused plant or from the tube in the cupboard. But it cools the burn down and I usually don't scar.

Our home will forever be know as "Annie's". She was a dear friend of the family and her house was know in the neighbourhood for the beautiful garden and ever flowing supply of baked goods out the back door. I sometimes feel like we are just taking care of it for her now that she has passed on.

I have a Lodge as well and i seem to find a new use for it everyday. Not only does it live on my stovetop, I put it in the oven to cook pizza's on and to bake bread on. I love the fact that it is reversible and solid.

@sarahperegrina, having "living room" furniture is also fairly common on the east coast of Canada. While I was visiting my relatives on Prince Edward Island everyone had a sofa or a good comfy chair in the kitchen. That was were we gathered and it usually ended up in a kitchen party with loads of music and good food.

Canned salmon is the perfect thing for salmon loaf. Made like a traditional meat loaf but with soft bread and the addition of mayo. I also sneak minced veggies in there too. Baked in a loaf pan until crisp on the top and tender in the centre. It is finished off with a white sauce that has had dill and hard boiled eggs added to it. Super simple, super cheap and super yummy.
