In other words, don't feel pressured to have things just because someone (or some company) thinks you should.

5 Ways to Spend Less & Reduce Clutter

Great reminders and tips! Especially this one:
• When will I have time to use it and maintain it?

A friend and I were in IKEA picking up leather care products to go with her new giant leather chair. One package contained the cleaner. Another package contained the cleaner and the "leather softening cream." She was conflicted and spent a good while weighing the pros and cons of getting the cream or not getting the cream until I finally asked my friend (a new mother!), "Are you really going to rub cream into your giant leather chair??"

"No way!" ><

It can be as simple as asking yourself a direct clutter-cutting question!

Not sure if this is a lesson learned or just sheer luck—but I happened to marry a man who is just as invested and engaged in our household as I am.

Having a spouse who is also a good roommate makes all the difference!

Sounds like skidou came up with a cure for what I call "stuffocating".

Growing up, my family gave a short and sweet grace before dinner every night--wouldn't want the food to get cold!

Now my husband and I take a moment, hold hands, tell each other "I love you" and otherwise separate our meal from our undoubtedly hectic day.

I was hoping for more colloquial blessings!
"Good food, Good meat, Good Lord--Let's eat!"

My husband and I made a dozen of these little guys using a recipe for "Mini Deep Dish Pizzas" found in Everyday Food's September issue (unfortunately it's not available online just yet).

It uses diced tomato instead of marinara sauce, so it's fresh and light--and with less of a mess factor. We discovered Trader Joe's prepared pizza dough--only 99 cents! And the filling options are endless.

They were indeed perfect for lunch!

We call pellet ice "hospital ice" in my family--they always seem to have it there, and it's hard to get your hands on any where else.

My mother and I would eat it out of styro-foam cups--perfectly plain--and it was practically dessert!

It may be "eating for 31 days on $31," but it certainly isn't living!

While I appreciate a man with a plan--and a thrifty shopper to boot!--I can't consider this grocery shopping. And I have a hard time considering some listed items "food."

Even with tight-fitting lids and removable, rinsable boxes, I would think the scoops would cause a sanitation problem.

However charming, the metal scoops would transfer germs from your hands into the dry ingredients if their permanent home was inside of the drawers.

I would always request my mother's Tres Leches cake for my June birthday. It's the type of cake you eat with a spoon, and the fresh fruits on top make it "light" and refreshing.

It's even better the next day for breakfast. Cake in the morning!

My husband and I picked up a Vintage kitchen timer (KIKKERLAND brand) on our honeymoon. We have used and enjoyed it every day since! It keeps accurate time, has a strong magnet, and a delightful "brrring!" when the time is up. Not to mention that charming design!
