I used to live in Queretaro, Mexico, and I've drank plenty of Mexican Coke and plenty of American Coke. I still think there is a definite taste difference, but I never really thought it was the sugar vs. HCFS thing anyway. I think it's the water that's used to bottle it. I only like the Coke bottled in Queretaro, the Coke bottled in Monterey doesn't taste as good. I'd like to see a study on that! :) (You can tell where it was bottled on the bottle cap, it'll say Monterey NL or Queretaro, Mexico) All of the Coke I've seen in the US is imported from Monterey.

We didn't order my daughter's crib until she was about 5 months old and started to approach the weight limit for the bassinet on the Pack-n-Play we kept next to my side of the bed. She slept well (well as much -or should I say little- as she slept) in the Pack-n-Play until then, and it also gave us extra time to get her room set up which up until then was my home office.

We used to do this every year for a work BBQ - the best was when they combined EverClear with one of the fruity Malibu Rums (i think it was pineapple) It was delicious! We have tried both with one of those syringes you use to infuse meat and funnels - funnels are definitely easier, but the syringe distributes the alcohol better.

I have installed this kind: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2792252 and my 17-month-old hasn't been able to figure them out yet. When I first installed them (when she was like 10 months old), she was very interested in them, but now she just ignores them. Even I have to use both hands and some strength to get them off.

What we have trouble with are power strips... the power strip covers they sell don't fit when it's plugged in.

I bought these before our last trip to Disneyworld with my then-14-month old, and while she (thankfully) was never out of our sight, it was worth the peace of mind it gave me to know my cell number was on her if she got away from us. Hers lasted 5 days even with multiple days of swimming, baths and sunscreen. I have 5 more to use on any other trips we take where we'll be in crowds. You really can't beat these for the price. I got lots of comments on it too from other moms asking where I got it.

My daughter is on the small side (9% height/weight), but at 16 months she seems crowded in her Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat. I've been looking at the Sunshine Kids Radian... model I was all set to buy her a Britax Advocate CS (which you can find on sale for $300 right now at multiple places) But the Radian seems to be recommended more than Britax on car-seat.org, and when comparing regular prices, are not as expensive as Britax.

The Radian XTSL seat also offers the first NCAP tested, high capacity LATCH system up to 80 pounds without the use of a seat belt, and can be rear-facing up to 45 lbs. I really like the high weight limit for rear-facing, much better than the Britax Advocate's 35-lb RF limit.
